    Have no fear. :)

  2. Gravatar

live in the uk so cant see dark knight till wednesday. will this filmcast contain spoilers?

  3. Gravatar

james - as with all episodes of the /filmcast, there will be spoilers but we will save them until the very end of the episode. We will also give warnings when we’re entering spoiler territory.

  4. Gravatar

Hey Peter, will this be a spoiler free discussion with Kevin?

  5. Gravatar

LOL ^^^^^^^^Shoulda read the first posts, LOL. Thanks Dave.

THE DARK KNIGHT BROKE RECORDS THIS WEEKEND LIKE THE BADASS BATMAN IS WOOTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i also wanted to say Kevin Smith made Dogma which means KEVIN SMITH IS BATMAN????????????????

  7. Gravatar

Be sure to ask Kevin about the ratings brew-ha-ha Zack And Miri is is being subjected to. I can watch a hundred man slaughter on the beach of Normandy with enough blood/death/murder/gunshots/grenade’s/missiles/KILL/KILL/KILL/ and entrails to turn the ocean purple? But that’s an R. I can watch the bloodiest crucifixion/torture/murder/KILL/KILL/KILL depicted in the modern era in Passion; But that’s an R.

Two adults speaking to one another humorously about sex, showing love and affection for one another… maybe showing themselves to one another… Jokes/Laughs/humor/skin/nipples/jokes/laughs but that needs to get buried underneath an NC-17!%&?

Better yet skirt the question so Kevin won’t say anything that might piss off the MPAA and suffer their vengeance. I don’t care if I have to watch Zack and Miri in a condemned parking garage projected on a bed sheet (like some Lynch film). They can’t keep me from this flick.

    Love the Smodcast.

Why on Earth would Kevin Smith’s opinion about The Dark Knight be something to trumpet? What, exactly, does he offer?

  9. Gravatar

Ahh man I work tonight, cant make it for the live stream, looks like ill have to wait till tues night :(

  10. Gravatar

Oh yeah I get it. Lets all play the “who the fuck is Kevin Smith anyway” game.
    ml.
@ David: Who is Peter Sciretta, or Hunter Steph., or David Chen that you tune your browser to /film and eat up this shit everyday? Now your complaining because a an actual filmmaker is going to lend his voice to the discourse?

  11. Gravatar

The dark knight makes Jersey girl look like clerks 2.

  12. Gravatar

@David: The better question is why should we care about a random commentator questioning the relevance of an established director?

  13. Gravatar

this is gonna be good one

  14. Gravatar

Ah, I see. So we can’t even ask why Smith’s venturing far afield from juvenile comedies makes him a worthy commentator for The Dark Knight. Can’t even ask the question, can we?

  15. Gravatar

@David That’s not the question you asked, so don’t be an idiot. His geek cred is tremendous, he’s a comic book author himself, and he’s a hilarious personality. That enough is reason for me to anticipate his appearance on the Filmcast.

  16. Gravatar

It was exactly the question when I asked what he possibly could offer on the subject, so don’t be an idiot, Tyrano. Read. As for his “cred” being “tremendous,” I suppose it may be true in some quarters — so I’ll have to take your word for it. His movies seem far afield from The Dark Knight. As for him being “hilarious,” I know enough to disagree.

    david:

If you know anything about Kevin Smith’s films or his life you would know that Comics are a big part of his upbringing. He loves comics.

Batman is a film based on a comic book character and some villains.

Kevin Smith’s films are funny and good.

    Let the man speak.

    Bitch

  18. Gravatar

Having seen both Evenings with Keven Smith, i suspect this podcast will be hilarious.

  19. Gravatar

I wonder if he’ll tell the Tim Burton story as it semi relates to batman.

  20. Gravatar

    Burton story, lolz.

  21. Gravatar

Well to stray off from the Hatred. I wanna here about what excally the Fan’s that were extras in Zack and Miri Make a Porno did. MY brain automatically put’s a picture of a crazy ass fan orgy? Maybe. And how bout Clerks: Sellout, what happened to that.

  22. Gravatar

This one is going to be long… Like realllllly long. But good job guys, your really making your way up in the world, don’t fuck it up.

i feel bad for bein a jerk to dave though

  38. Gravatar

Don’t beat yourself up so much about it Thankyoufor. Dave’s a big boy. I’m sure it’s just part of the hyperbole that’s surrounding The Dark Knight. It makes us all go a little mad sometimes….

    Twas a good podcast though

  39. Gravatar

Hey guys, thanks for having me on the post-After Dark unscripted unlisted bonus track segment of this historic and epic episode of the /Film Cast. It was a lot of fun!

  40. Gravatar

Jerry as usual with the “edgy” stand-up material.

  41. Gravatar

    > As for his “cred” being “tremendous,” I suppose it may be true in some quarters — so I’ll have to take your word for it. His movies seem far afield from The Dark Knight.

That’s like saying Jay Leno knows nothing about cars, because he does late night hosting. Not all hobbies and passions match up with a person’s career.

If you really are interested, Kevin Smith wrote a script for a Superman movie for WARNER BROS., which you can google. To say the least, the man is an afficionado.

  42. Gravatar

NEWSFLASH: Christian Bale was just arrested in London for beating his sister and Mother:

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,388124,00.html

…………….or maybe he just valiantly took the blame to protect society. :(

    LOL!

  43. Gravatar

I missed the live show. When will the podcast be available for download? I thought it’d be available right away but I couldn’t find it anywhere.

  44. Gravatar

Rachel: What are you gonna do, Bruce? Beat a woman like me down like some sissy ass coward loser?

Batman: Ooooh. You are SO LUCKY that you’re not genetically related to me, Rach! SO LUCKY!

  45. Gravatar

    @ Tom =

Yeah Smith comes off as a major tool all the time. Hopefully we’ll get to hear him discuss the Bat “flick”… “Yeah that was a cool flick… great comic book flick…flick flick flick…excuse me while I flick cheetos out of my beard…”

  46. Gravatar

Tbe real question is how many of you guys can get your lips on Smith’s ass at the same time.

  47. Gravatar

What’s another good podcast film site…I’ve been listening to slashfilm’s podcast and filmspotting at work..really passes the time. Anyone know any other good ones?

  48. Gravatar

I’m right there with ya, gryffin. Film Junk is the longest running film podcast on the net. I’d recommend that one. There’s also a TON of Kevin Smith podcasts (called SModcasts) that are good too that I’m listening to. I like it cause it’s like his Q&A dvd’s.
