I've been a big fan of Brad Anderson since I discovered "Session 9" on a bottom shelf of my local Hollywood Video years ago. The guy is a solid director who excels in any genre and I think "Transsiberian" confirms that. If anyone's interested, check out my review for "Transsiberian" penned during the 2008 Sundance Film Festival:

Can't see to see what he comes out with next!

Two of my favorite films: Happy Accidents and The Machinist. I'm glad there are still people like Brad Anderson making films.

It's always nice to see more recognition for 2001, possibly one of the most thought-provoking, artistic films ever created. What he says about Spielberg is spot-on too.

"/Film: I think you’ve named probably four different directors or filmmakers. I’ve noticed that actors list their favorite movies, but directors usually list their favorite filmmakers."

That's the damn truth. I love hearing directors talk, especially about their favorite filmmakers. Well, at least the good directors that is. I could care less what McG or Rattner think about filmmakers. But, the good ones...the ones who "get it." That makes for a good read.

Brilliant interview. The best one I've read on here by far. Makes me want to check out all his films. Thank you.

And to relate a little bit, the other day I caught 2001 halfway through and couldn't stop watching. It remains the most visually stunning piece of Art I have ever witnessed.

The Shining is still haunting for me to watch. nad quite frankly it scares the living shit out of me, everytime. It's hard not to be sucked in by Kubricks direction. He truely was a genius.
