Here we have the new UK one-sheet for this month’s sequel, The X Files: I Want to Believe, courtesy of STYD. Are Mulder and Scully in heaven? Did Xzibit’s agent get him in? This movie is the quiet kid in the back of the classroom. Is he just a total blank or swimming with twisted, original ideas and waiting to surprise everyone? The film opens domestically on July 25th. More privy details: it has snow, black helicopters, computer monitors, and is apparently not about UFOs.

This movie is going to be great! 10 bucks for an old school motw two hour X-Files epsiode. = YES
July 17th, 2008 at 10:22 am
I don’t think will be a success. I think it’ll be a fail.

What do you know, you’re not even American! :0
July 17th, 2008 at 10:29 am
i’d do moulder

Mulder and Scully aren’t out there chasing the Loch Ness monster in Scotland or the Abomidible snowman out in Asia. They keep it in the good ole USA!
So I can understand if you foreigners feel passed by and some level of angst.

LiviuX said (paraphrased) - “Stop ignoring our Chekoyuslavian paranormal cryptozoological mysteries X-files, otherwise I’m going to wish failure on you, wah!”

I’m excited about this…. they said it’s not about aliens so I wanna see what they do with it.

I think this movie looks good. I’m a huge, huge X-Files fan. I even enjoyed its last three seasons that weren’t as good as the first six (hey, it was better than anything else on TV at the time). I can’t wait for this movie.
Sadly, this movie will be hurt by The Dark Knight. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am glad The Dark Knight will do great. I’m a huge Batman fan as well, and I was also one of the cop extras running around in the movie trailer, so believe me, I want this movie to beat everything. But as an X-Files fan, I wish this movie came out a few weeks before or after TDK. People will be seeing TDK again the second weekend more than The X-Files. X-Files will probably get #2 at the box office, but no more than that.
Oh, this poster does look like a German Techno Album cover.
July 17th, 2008 at 11:26 am
That’s clearly meant to appeal to scorned foreign filmgoers. :p

great poster
July 17th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
Maybe since Crystal Skull had the aliens, the X-Files will involve an ancient, mystical relic???
July 17th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
The color blue is missing and some alien or dolphin should be in it. That would be a german techno album cover. btw. How does an american techno cover look like?
July 17th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
So right about the techno album cover.
“I want to believe in life after love…” oons, oons, etc…
July 17th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
the poster is solid.
Even without the titles and the unnecessary solar flares.

THUMP-THUMP-THUMP-THUMP-OOM-CHA-OOM-CHA-OOM-CHA-OOM-CHA-OOM-CHA!

I want to believe this movie will be good. It’s anybody’s guess.
Good or bad, they had my money as soon as they slapped X-Files on the title. Some things just work that way.

david duchovny’s “duchovny files” blog is bizarre, sloppy and pretty amusing.

why does chris carter loves xzibit so much?

I can’t wait for this, the movie looks AMAZING and the poster is too awesome. Roll on July 25th !!I’m so effing excited!!!!!The X-Files ROCKS!!!

WOAH! Some designer went overboard with the Photoshop Lens Flare filter. Horrible poster for a pointless and shitty money-grabbing sequel with an equally ridiculous title. I want to believe this will FAIL.
July 18th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
omg its not about ufos or aliens well that sucks i agree what liviux say i think it will be a fail.
July 22nd, 2008 at 6:04 am
I think the lens flares used in this poster are much more classier than the common Photoshop filters. In fact I really believe these are not the flares that you can come up with using Photoshop, so it’s good to see they put a bit more work into this poster.
I’m looking forward to the movie, I’ll enjoy it even if it’s just an average movie.
