to Brian and Jerry,
Speaking to mind dancer’s point read a bit of the background info on the story and you will understand the cheesyness of the costumes is purposeful and a main point of the theme of the movie.
I was into comics when I was younger and remember a couple of my friends liking this series when it dropped. I bypassed it unfortunately and after seeing the trailer regret it. I need to read it ASAP. This looks totally epic!

I’ve personally have had to deal with a similar situation with the MPAA at work and it just caused more and more headache. Seriously when are these people going to quit the bullshit and let cinema be cinema.

On a lighter note, the trailer looks awesome and I can’t wait. It should be fun one to go see.

This looks fucking great. Right now my mind is at ease after seeing the new trailer. When this was shown before TDK. The whole house went fucking NUTS.

It looks amazing on the big screen. I can’t wait to see what it looks like a year from now. Snyder is giving me the goods here and is proving himself to have a solid and great track record.

The costumes in the comic were glamorized and a bit ridiculous … as are the translations seen in promotional materials.

Alan Moore’s Watchmen material takes jabs at the whole superhero culture. The costumes are designed to be almost satirical. The comic commentates on superheroes, almost attacks the world of superheroes, and explores their absurdities. The screen translation seems to be in the same vein, and the costumes are a small reflection of these simple themes.

Yea, man … I’m weary about that 2hrs 24 minutes. Too much material to cram into that space. The depths of the characters might be lost, comic spends so much time delicately scanning across each character. Who knows though, too early to put together any kind of solid appraisal. DVD release will hopefully be more epic and glorious … studio probably not going to allow theatrical release to be overly lengthy as to not hurt sales to more general audience.

As someone who likes comic book movies but doesn’t enjoy reading actual comics, I have a feeling people are going to disagree with what I’m about to say, but oh well. The costume design in the trailer really puts me off. I realize they’re probably be faithful to the source, but it’s much easier to make someone in a ridiculous costume look cool in a drawing compared to putting a real person in the said costume.

Im hoping they keep the 3hr cut but after reading the article and finding out its going to be closer to 2hrs 24mins Im just wondering how much of the graphic novel was kept in the movie. And am I the only one who thought that maybe there should have been SPOILER warning to that article. Now I know because of that thing that the attack on New York is going to be different. Thanks Entertainment Weekly!

I’m loving all the material teases pumped out for this project. Snyder seems to have proven with 300 how faithful he can be to his source material. Everything revealed so far backs up that reputation. I’m hoping that the final cut is epic and in the three hour range. Needs to be that long to contain the material.

I’m jealous of Zach’s seemingly successful efforts thus far.
