New Max Payne Photo in USA Today

20th Century Fox has released the first “official still” from the big screen adaptation of Max Payne. Yes, I realize that we posted a batch of production photos last week, but I guess they weren’t actually “official”. In the USA Today article, Mark Wahlberg admits that he has never played the game but says that he’s watched one of his assistants “play more than I should. It’s got a story line more complex than most video-game movies.” I would make some snarky crack about how Wahlberg should get his act together and play some video games do a little research, but we must remember, this guy was nominated for an Oscar.

you spend less time staring at us and more time looking where hes going to land.

I was definitely wondering who he was staring at as he lay waste the wall and sky with his guns. "Watch as I mezmorize you with my sideways flying technique. Pay no attention to my bullets hitting the second floor windows and fire escape...why is that baby still crying?"

I know this is suppose to be really good. But, I am not a fan of Wahlberg. Boogie Nights and Rockstar were perfect for him, because they required no real acting skill. I've yet to be blown away by any performance from Marky Mark. He does better as the half-wits.

Might as well just call this Punisher 3 (or 2, depending on which one comes out first.)

Also, Jaime Fox WON an Oscar only to follow it with Stealth, so, yeah...

I wonder if that assistant would be the real-life Turtle. I could see him hitting the B and playing Max Payne all night.
