I must disagree with the comment by Peter Sciretta about studio Behind the scene segments on Special Editions of DVD. While some are barely covering any really BTS footage, I find that most are more in depth than not. Do they show everything I want to see? no, maybe not, but for the most part I find them very interesting. As a filmmaker, I know that sometimes, being on a set can be a long tedious time of inaction. What these documentaries do is take the best , moments and make a "highlight" reel of the making of a movie. Pearl Harbor, Open Range Pirates of the Carribean 2 and Superman Returns are the most indepth but the Lord of the Rings
(all 3 ) Special Edition and the King Kong Special Edition are the best. They take you from start to finish.

I was disappointed with Revenge of the Sith, the BTS for that could have been better. I would have liked to have seen a BTS for Last of the Mohicans and the Rock. I learned many tricks and ideas from these BTS programs and have used the in sight to better understand the art of filmmaking.
So I think that BTS segments are getting better because people want to see more. The want to see the "tricks of the Trade"

I was lucky enough to score tickets from the Kicking and Screening site. Looks like I'll be seeing the film on Tuesday night and then again at the midnight screening on Friday. I'm so excited!

The Lord of the Rings expanded edition special features set a totally new standard for me. They were expansive, and a joy for me, being a massive enthusiast of the series, to watch. This was a pretty rad watch. One Week! Imax!

Great offering, Pete. For people with Comcast, there's a slew of behind-the-scenes On Demand stuff that's been changing fairly regularly. The Gotham news reports are pretty funny.
