Finally, A fat, young Ace Ventura. I’ve been screaming for this for over 10 years.The first two movies deserve oscars for best comedies ever.Even though he’s almost crippled by his fat, I think he’s a dead ringer for Jim Carey.

When i first read this piece, i thought, why not! It’s going to be a kids movie, it could have a few laughs in it. But Justin is right - what’s the point in making a kids movie about an Adult film? It is insulting to the original.

Fat kids aren’t funny just because they’re fat and wild.

And FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS GOOD IN THIS WORLD, stop trying to remake classic Jim Carrey comedies.

1st… Dumb and Dumberer (which I actually saw without having seen any trailers, I actually thought it was a sequel to the original)

Next… Son of the mask (Thank god I intentionally skipped this one, at least the title gave away the fact that it was another attempt at a reboot starring a stupid child actor)

Now… this? Come on. Just stop. Movies like this cater to the absolute lowest common denominator of society. Everyone associated with this project should just kill themselves out of shame.

Here’s what I don’t get: This is going to be a kids’ movie. Fair enough. But kids have no reference of Ace Ventura since those movies were 10+ years ago and were for teenagers/adults.

Parents remember Ace Ventura as the teenage/adult movie with language and sexual innuendo and all that. And now they’re going to spring at the chance to bring their kids to another movie in that franchise? The fact that it has “Ace Ventura” in the title is actually a detriment to the attempts to draw copious amounts of people to it. If anything, it will turn people away (since the first two were not kids’ movies).

And in that line of thinking… why not just create some new franchise with a kid detective (he can even be a pet detective, it doesn’t matter)? Wasn’t Spy Kids proof that as long as you have a kid and a concept, people are going to show up? What’s wrong with “Fatty Snoops - Pet Detective”? Kids wouldn’t go see that?
