Hunter, I know for sure that you will disagree, but The Dark Knight is clearly on a level above Kill Bill.

Get that shoe ready.

kill bill was good, i loved it so much that i was an instant qt fan. then i saw his other work. im not a bog fan of his. he seems to have fun with his movies, but they seem more like he made them for himself and his buddies, and didnt really care if anyone else liked it. i dont know, thats just my opinion.

I am kinda sick of seeing his foot fetish scenes and seeing his ass play a part in the movie, its kinda ghey, like m night shamalalaaklalabad. I like his movies, but they're no big deal. TDK seems like it might be more fun, look better, etc...

if i had to choose, i would choose TDK. Kill Bill was pretty fucking awesome, so it might be a close call...

hunter, as long as its leather, its still technically animal flesh. are you going for synthetic materials or real leather?

Even though I think TDK will be awesome in every way, it's power will eventually give way to the next great comic book film. Where Inglorious Bastards is concerned, I have a feeling it will be in "the conversation" for a long time. At his best, Tarantino can deliver.

However, it's a silly debate. Apples to oranges. It's Batman's moment. I'm going to enjoy it.

I would have to cast my ballot in favor of TDK, because of both my massive love of Batman in general and my (personally well founded) dislike for QT. While I will admit that Kill Bill Vol. 1 could arguably be used as THE barometer by which to judge the definition of entertainment, I feel Tarantino himself is an egotistic and unoriginal filmmaker. Yes, the style in which he films is instantly recognizable, but his (read stolen) source material is thinly veiled and never given its full credit. Sure, he may mention from time to time on DVD special features the names of the movies he often mirrors, but states shortly thereafter that "all directors steal, there is no such thing as an homage." (pardon the lack of exact citation, I think it was in the Charlie Rose interview on the Pulp Fiction DVD) Keep in mind, however, that his obvious wealth of cinematic history knowledge and the sheer volume of things he has seen is flat out astonishing, as is his success story in general. Nevertheless, I don't feel that establishes him as a notable talent, nor does it sway me to look forward to the byproduct of a series of greater movies mixed with obscure dialogue. TDK ftw.

From what I can tell by the reviews and previews, The Dark Knight is more than just a comic book movie, it appears to have some pretty serious tones and lots of meaning and emotion. Heck, Batman Begins did - They can only do better in my opinion.

Haven't yet seen SOP. However, if you're looking for another good Iraq/current U.S. quagmire documentary, I'd recommend Heavy Metal in Baghdad - it's surprisingly excellent. Hopefully, I'll have a review of that in shortly.

The Dark Knight, hands down. I can't stand Tarantino and his holier-than-thou bullshit dialogue and persona. Christoper Nolan is an incredible director who doesn't just rehash genres like QT. You don't see Nolan making a big deal about his own movie (I guarantee QT would be making ridiculous statements about it), and The Dark Knight is going to be better than Batman Begins, which was already the best comic book movie ever made. Dark Knight over Inglorious Bastards for me any time.
