Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was not only good because Terry Gilliam DIRECTED it, but it was good because Hunter S. Thompson WROTE IT and was right there next to Gilliam not letting him mess it up.
He fired the first director because he wanted to make the part at Circus Circus animated.

And Hunter HATED cartoons.

I hate people that go on and on about awesome that movie is but have no idea it was a book and/or have never read it.

I gotta question people who are down on Life Aquatic and Darjeeling. Those two movies are so beautiful and heartfelt and wonderous. To me they seem like a very natural evolution from Tenenbaums. Don't forget there were those who counted Tenenbaums as a fall from grace too.

I have such a man-crush with Josh Peck and want to see this movie reallllllllll bad, but that was all scripted. Fresh, 25th Hour, Spike Lee Joint??? Someone should tell him the movie is done, he can stop acting like he's in '94!

i smell a movie night coming on! however instead of a group of cool friends it will probably end up being me and a "I heart NY" flask. (sigh)
