There are not enough words to describe how many great things are going on in that flawless movie. The music, the cast, the story, the cinematography, the editing, the list goes on. This movie, which I saw in the theatre in 1999 made me re-think movies and their impact, and made me want to work on film, having been a designer and musician my whole life. I moved to LA about 2 years after seeing this film, that's how much of an influence "The Insider" was and still is. The Insider is my all time favorite movie.
There are not enough words to describe how many great things are going on in that flawless movie.
The music, the cast, the story, the cinematography, the editing, the list goes on.

The flick also features a small cameo by Javier Bardem, who was then largely unknown to American audience. I just watched it again a couple nights ago and really love Jamie Foxx and even Tom Cruise's performance. Kind of makes me wish he wasn't insane because he's really good as the sociopath assassin Vincent. As far as other bank robber-centric movies, obviously Dog Day Afternoon has to be atop that list.
