Bravo played a re-run of his interview from the Screen Actors Guild tonight.
I had a very hard time listening to the last segment when he sat with the audience and answered their questions. He was so candid and loving to the people there. He always had this pleasant, surrogate, father way about him. Especially being known as such an agressive critic of this country’s behavior and politics. I guess it’s what everyone always said about him, “A dissapointed idealist”. And it made him an even better, smarter, person for it. I then realized we really did lose a mover. A legend.
Fortunately for this world. We have enough archives of his craft to teach others how to be progressive thinkers.
Thanks to HBO. My Tivo will be busy those two nights.

It’s sad that they only bother to play marathons like this after the poor bloke has passed on. Why don’t we celebrate awesome work like this while they’re still alive???? I remember the same happened for Richard Pryor.
It just reeks of cashing-in on such an unfortunate event. Make no mistake, HBO are busy right now selling premium advertising space during the ‘huge George Carlin specials…’
Shame.

CH,
HBO showed Carlins acts all the time. It was almost a yearly ritual for them. I always saw some type of Carlin act on their stations.

Last night I had dinner with my friend Rob Paravonian who was George Carlin’s last opening act. Rob also has an insanely successful YouTube video, Pachelbel’s Rant. He opened for George for the past year and was scheduled to continue doing it for one another year. I interviewed Rob on video and asked him about his offstage relationship with George and how cellists are coming to his show because of his YouTube video.

I don’t have HBO, sadly. I’d like to buy his boxed set soon. For now, I’m resorting to his huge library of clips on YouTube. It hurts to watch him. Such a loss.

Classy move by HBO.

Yeah, that’s awesome. I’m really surprised, b/c I just finished the SNL tell-all, “Live From New York,” and Lorne Michaels is said therein to not be a big fan of Carlin’s sense of humor—he never invited him back, think about that, pretty fucked up b/c he was so displeased with Carlin’s routine in the debut episode. Btw: I cannot recommend this book enough, it’s like $10 on Amazon.

Yeah Lorne, has alot of political friends and back then he was a pussy.
Hunter I gave you credit, and posted that awesome Carlin quote you found up on the Carlin post at screen rant.
Movie Blog, struck it and didn’t put it up. Pussys.
