Warner Bros has begun to ramp up the advertising for The Dark Knight. Check out five new television spots for the film below, followed by a five minute segment from the upcoming direct-to-DVD animated anthology Batman: Gotham Knight (think Animatrix, but with Batman) thanks to MTV. Enjoy.

Holy shit, this movie is going to be epic as fuck

I’m downloading this shit as soon as its available.

i love all things dark knight.
i love everyone involved in any of it.
i can not wait any longer.
    come to me.
    please.

I’m not gaining any confidence on the Batmanime with that clip. Bullet proof? Fire proof? 7 feet tall? Batman is supposed to be cool because he’s not Superman.

    I can’t decide which is the better TV spot… #2 or #5 (top-down)

Gotham Knight’s looks just like the Antimatrix… in that some of the short stories will be Amazing, while others will just be Average.

I saw the second one on this page last night on TV and about shit myself because of the new Joker footage. Then today I saw the third one through a forum I go to. I’ve been keeping up on all things Dark Knight (except spoilers) and these two are my favorite. I’m so excited for July 18th. My friend got us midnight tickets for it in IMAX and when our friend gets in town the next day we will be seeing it with him in IMAX. It’s going to be a great fucking weekend.

i hope my impossibly high expectations for the dark knight don’t detract from my enjoying it. if they do, it’s the film makers fault for making the movie look so good in all the previews.

i agree with theguyinpj’s. the batman anime initially sounded like an interesting/promising project. but that clip has left me very skeptical. regardless, i’ll probably end up buying it or illegally downloading it.

anyone see two face in there? me wantee two face!

There’s no way this film will be less than perfect. no way. And i don’t say that about any film…until now.

  9. Gravatar

    Trailer 2 was freaking awesome.

  10. Gravatar

    trailer #3 was epic!

IS IT JULY 18th YET?? This is torture!

  11. Gravatar

I think I’ll pass on the new footage. Too much goodness already.

  12. Gravatar

The Dark Knight seems like it could be one of the only good summer movies so far (ive been looking it up since BB)

  13. Gravatar

arrrrrrr!! july 18th cant come soon enough :(

  14. Gravatar

Man I’m so happy that I found out that the Dark Knight is nearly 3 Hours. I’m so happy!!! Now, if there is cursing in the film, I’ll cry tears of joy.

    July 17th in Australia. HaHAhAhAHAaha

And we’re getting Gotham Knight in cinemas too…

    syms,

You do know that’s pretty much the “same” day as we get TDK here right? Not to mention the first early week showing during Wednesday.

  17. Gravatar

All of those clips were phenomenal! Now, I too am I fan of long films, I just hope the movie is always moving forward, never dragging. The approx running time is: 2 hrs 32 mins, I love it! Plus I l’ve been feeling Nolan’s style of directing ever since “Memento”. And gosh golly, the Joker is going to steel the fucking show, no? Hahahahahahaha (pun intended).

  18. Gravatar

Heath’s death sure was unfortunate….I mean, it looks like he’s doing a great job with each clip I’m seeing.

Woulda been cool if he got an award for it or something. Fantastic stuff I’m seeing here. Just a few short weeks, too.

I can’t believe they made a film based on that trailer.
Looks like the spots have a focus on Ledger. Even though I’m sure the other actors could sell the film, it’s a smart move. People want to see what Ledger did.

The Gotham Knight clip was underwhelming. I had really high hopes for this, hoping for something a little bit closer to the O-Ren Ishii story from Kill Bill. Hopefully, the other are much better, but why release this clip as a preview? I dunno.

  20. Gravatar

If only you guys knew what I know…

  21. Gravatar

    trailer 2 is the best….

you know with ledger gone now i think people will appreciate his role in this movie and this version of the joker. r.i.p. heath.

  22. Gravatar

    by trailer i mean commercial…

    bad choice of words….

p.s. was not purposely done to drop the line… i swear

  23. Gravatar

I’m getting AFRAID of the JOKER! Nolan has taken it to the next level!

These aren’t “trailers” people. They’re called TV Spots. They’re much shorter than trailers and also differ from trailers in that they are shown on TV commercials rather than in theaters as previews before movies.

Just thought I’d clear that up.

The Dark Knight is going to blow our freakin’ minds out. I’ve already got 4 tickets for the 12:50 pm (noon) showing on July 18 at the IMAX theater in Dublin, CA. $68 that I do not regret spending one bit.

  25. Gravatar

Captain Awesome; Weds screenings aside, the 17th isn’t pretty much the “same” day as the 18th in the US, as we are also 17 hours ahead of you guys (comparing Sydney to LA).

If we were 17 hours behind then I take your point…

  26. Gravatar

OH NO, YOU’RE IN THE FUTURE OR SOMETHING!

  27. Gravatar

glad miguel cleared that whole trailer miscue up for us

  28. Gravatar

I wasn’t just referring to you though Jason so don’t feel singled out. I just noticed saying they liked Trailer #3 and I assume they were talking about the thrid TV Spot on this page. Trailer #3 is the trailer that came out that weekend when IronMan came out. You know the one that first showed us that “Here… We.. Go!” scene. Anyway i know its something minor but i just figured I clear it up for those who were condused.

I’ve been lucky enough to see this film and it is the best action hero film I have ever seen. The Joker is the best villain in a film EVER! Forget Jack Nicholsons fat camp joker walking around with a purple boom box. (bold statement I know but its true).

To call it a comic book or action hero film or whatever seems inaccurate and discredits the film, really. I’d describe it as an unsettling crime/action/drama.

It is much much darker than Batman Begins and amazingly, much much better too … Every character is important to the plot, so brilliantly written .. and wait until you see Harvey Two Face …

    WHAT A FILM!
