Paramount/DreamWorks just released a new theatrical trailer for Eagle Eye, which I’m guessing must be attached to prints of Wanted (which hits theaters this Friday). The new D.J. Caruso-directed fast-paced race-against-time-thriller which stars Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan as “two strangers who become the pawns of a mysterious woman they have never met, but who seems to know their every move. Realizing they are being used to further her diabolical plot, they must work together to outwit the woman before she has them killed.”
The trailer picks up where the teaser left off, and doesnt let up. Is it just me or is this film looking better and better? The action looks intense, and need I remind you that the movie is based on an original idea from Steven Spielberg?! Watch the trailer below and tell me what you think in the comments!
Watch the trailer in High Definition on Yahoo. Eagle Eye hits theaters on September 26th 2008.

Looks pretty intense. I just hope the answer to the mystery of this woman on the phone isn’t lame.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
Looks great. The trailer feels like it’s showing and explaining a little too much.
I didn’t want to know how he survived that jump….not yet.
great cast too. Can’t wait to see it.

Nice to see Shia man’ing it up a little more. But I’m still having trouble getting past the Matrix styled “do what I tell you right now over the phone” scenes in the teaser & trailer. Hell, it’s Spielberg, so I’m gonna trust him.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
Count me in. I’m sure the Shia naysayers will speak up, but I like the kid. As long as he’s put in a situation where he is running away from crazy shit yelling “NO NO NO NO NO” then its eight bucks well spent.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Matrix meets Saw
LAME!
June 24th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
looks great, i’m a fan of most people in the film.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Brian-
Geek meets retarded statement.
LAME!
June 24th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Shia only says “no” twice in this trailer.
…Yes, I counted
June 24th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
I’m intrigued.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
It has this weird Enemy of the States vibe to me.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
I think I saw The Matrix and the Bourne films already.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
o god shut up
this film does look good at all
it uses same old same storylines and then inserts shia
June 24th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
doesn’t*
June 24th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
is that Ethan Embry? Dreamworks, you have my money already.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
4 credited writers?
That never sounds good.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Lame.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
The women on the phone is a damn voice recorder.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
Looks awesome cant wait to see it
June 24th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
What they need to do is not promote it to much, keep the suspense behind what is really going on. If people go into this expecting awesomeness just because it was a spielberg idea, they are going to be dissappointed but with restriction of mass advertising, it could be good.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
@ IronMonger:
I haven’t paid eight bucks for a movie in years. At least 10.50 everywhere I go…
June 24th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
i wonder if shia is putting on his lil boy beard to seem more mature and action film star person. lil boy makes me laugh
June 24th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
DJ Caruso KNOWS how to tell a story.
Shia+Michelle know how to act out a story
Spelberg knows how to produce.
Disturbia was great
Eagle Eye is going to be awesome.
June 24th, 2008 at 5:07 pm
I knew I had seen this movie before. I saw “Sigma” at the San Francisco Film Festival a few years ago. It was the same concept, ordinary guy is forced to take orders from the voice on the phone, or else his wife is killed. He eventually runs into other people who help him along the way, each of them simply following orders from the same voice. The interesting part was the entire film was comprised of security camera or hidden camera footage, no imaginary floating point of view that we normally get in movies.

this movie looks great, however i still don’t understand why a september release, but i don’t care cause i’m seeing the movie opening weekend no matter what
June 24th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Steven Spielberg is overrated.
WOTW and IJ4 both sucked balls.
This movie looks like Die Hard 4 and other action movies involving explosions, flipping cars and shit.
June 24th, 2008 at 5:39 pm
I hope theres actual action and not just teasing throughout the whole movie…having the two just running around and such….I saw both firing off shotguns hope thats a good couple of scenes…
June 24th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
Enemy of the /Saw /Game?
I’ll torrent it if I’m bored one day….
June 24th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
D.J. Caruso’s Disturbia wasn’t bad. I’d like to see him break away from other people’s ideas. Especially Spielberg. Indiana Jones 4 blew any interest for his future work.
June 24th, 2008 at 6:05 pm
I definitely got an Enemy Of The State meets Minority Report vibe. I dunno.
It looks pretty fun and I love Shia. I think this will be Labeouf’s movie that launches him into an adult actor. Maybe he’ll graduate into the Joseph Gordon Levitt/Ryan Gosling roles.
We’ll see. DJ Caruso is certainly hit or miss. He makes unknown masterpieces like “The Salton Sea” with Val Kilmer, but he also is quick to make forgettable C-/D+ flicks like “Two For The Money” with Matthew McCaugnhey.
“Disturbia” was decent, but felt a little aimed at the sophomore in H.S. crowd.
June 24th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
LaBeouf has his place, but I just don’t see it here in this film. Imagine his part played by a few actors that carry a little gravitas. Different (and better) movie.
They sacrifice that option when they opt for the audience ahead of the story. Sure, there is always going to be that consideration. In this case, I feel it’s a bad choice.
June 24th, 2008 at 7:29 pm
I really loathe how Spielberg seems to be pushing Shia who really has no place in any of the films hes been in lately…
June 24th, 2008 at 7:56 pm
This movie looks like the American Gangster of action-thrillers- anything that was good in movies such as the Bourne trilogy, the Matrix, Die Hard, etc., will be packaged into one movie so that people don’t need to waste time seeing several others.
Honestly, I’m tired of Spielberg pushing Shia- you’re right, Al, this guy has no place in movies in general- I don’t believe him as any character he’s played to this point. The closest it gets is probably Constantine.
June 24th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
It looks “ok” but there is just something that bugs me about her calling to tell him to leave in 30 seconds instead of 5 min ago and so on.
June 24th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Am I the only one who followed the short lived CBS show “Traveller,” about 2 friends framed for a terrorist attack. It was deservedly canceled. Next.
June 24th, 2008 at 11:38 pm
looks like a conglomerate of stylized direction and writing that has surfaced some(what) success with movies like this in the past.
nothing new, or original really. this is too easy, it’s not pushing anything. just another starfiest.
fuck
June 25th, 2008 at 6:04 am
Could be very good…
…could be very bad.
June 25th, 2008 at 7:41 am
I’m giving this movie a try before saying any comments ahead of time. In a way, many movies are better to enjoy what they are meant to be than compare to other movies.
June 25th, 2008 at 8:26 am
this sooooooooooooooooooo AWESOME!!!! i am going to buy it when it comes out…..AWESOME i tell you what!!!
June 25th, 2008 at 9:29 am
I don’t know how anyone is drawing a relation to SAW here.
Also, Shia’s mostly played aloof/slapstick characters. He’s almost always comic relief. Let’s see how he holds up in the lime light.
God forbid, you might like him.
GLaDoS for life!
June 25th, 2008 at 10:01 am
Saw + 88 Minutes?
June 25th, 2008 at 10:18 am
It might look as if it’s a few different stories that have already
been told mashed up, but I think the movie looks like it might be some exciting fun. It also could be terrible, guess we’ll find out
come Sept.
June 25th, 2008 at 10:44 am
Matrix and Seven come to my mind looking this. Matrix for the begining and Seven for the images over 0:55.
June 25th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
If the woman on the phone is a tree, bush, or grass I’m going to be pissed! lol (inside joke)
June 25th, 2008 at 1:25 pm
woo hoo in the begining the guys playing pocker one of them is turtle from entourage. i love jerry ferrera.
June 25th, 2008 at 3:45 pm

June 25th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
DJ Caruso is doing a great job of remaking Hitchcock! Disturbia was Rear Window and Eagle Eye is North by Northwest! That said, looks rad!!! Caruso, Speilberg, and co. look like they have brought a nice updated verison of hitchcock. Remember Speilberg is in bed with Universal and Universal was attached to Hitchcock (His bungalow remains untouched in the backlot). This is Universal’s clever way of renewing the library of old work and reeping the benefits once again. Disturbia was a hit and Eagle Eye will do well also. Shia Labeuf is MONEY now, so its a win win for all involved. I can’t wait!!!
June 25th, 2008 at 6:06 pm
for shia to be so young and only a couple of films under his belt he sure does bring out the hate in people and carries a stigma around with him. i like him and think he’s kinda funny, he brings a sort of will smith charm to his roles
June 26th, 2008 at 12:54 am
maybe Sean Penn will be waiting for them at the end and tell them happy birthday.
June 26th, 2008 at 12:04 pm
I saw the a sneek peek on youtube and now seeing this makes me wanna go see it even more. I can’t wait I just love Shia and I know I won’t be disappoint when I watch his movies. It comes out around my B-day so that will be B-day gift to my-self. I just wish he had a different co-star.
June 28th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
