Let’s make this movie a hit. Master of boiling, paralyzed rage and sorrow, comedian Zach Galifianakis, stars as the lead character, George Washington Winsterhammerman, in the true-blue indie, Visioneers, from first time director Jared Drake and writer Brandon Drake.

At this point, I’m supposed to shield the trailer from the words “quirky indie blah blah” and reassure you that even though the film dissects mundane office life in America (…yet again) it can still be a winner and spew originality like lava on a Tiki-themed putt-putt course. But I’m not. Because seeing Galifianakis reinvent the middle finger, rock a Founding Father wig/regalia, destroy paper towels during a perfunctory existential meltdown, and conjure John Belushi’s heady energy circa “Donuts of Champions” in a trailer to a feature film makes me very freaking happy.

Visioneers just played CineVegas and the buzz is thick. Click here for further info, and here for info on the film’s fictitious Jeffers Corp.

Discuss: Anyone lucky enough to have seen this at CineVegas or the SIFF? Here’s a “Between Two Ferns” clip with Galifianakis vs Michael Cera.

Looks like he's glad George Snr. got her those implants.

It's a decent trailer, alot of it seems pretty standard fair but the George Washington bits look interesting.
  • Hmm. Could be good.
  • Tyler J.
Big fan of Zach, even got to see him Friday at midnight (technically, Saturday, I guess) at Bonnaroo...fscking genius.

"YOU AIN'T GOT NO PANCAKE MIX!"

  • this idiot was in what happens in vegas! I'm glad there is zero depth in hollywood. christ!

    "C;mon! Hit me!!!"

Looks interesting. Still some of the requisite "indie" trappings i am so fond of decrying (how many headbands and running shorts oh Lord? How many?!), but maybe they'll be spread thin throughout. Reminded me of the tone of Kaufman's Synecdoche, NY.
  • ZapRowsdower
    Yikes, this looks terrible.
  • Sean
zach may be the funniest comedian out there today. this is gonna be great
  • Quenfis
Looks good to me. He's a great comedian. I'll keep my eye out for it.

I'm not sure how I feel about this movie after watching the trailer.
It looks like it could be something I would enjoy, but also looks
like it might run a little slow.
  • TheDaftPunk
I love Zach Galifianakis, he's been great on Tim & Eric Awesome Show and this looked like the same great material from him, this is the first I have heard about this movie, and it looks interesting.
  • Ford
Just like DaftPunk said, anyone who has seen Zach G in Tim and Eric knows that he's hilarious. This is gonna be great.

    @ ThDaftPunk / Ford

I tried to find his Gravy Robbers/Tairy Greene skit from Tim and Eric but a good version is not online.
  • Pete
I'm not really sure what I just watched. Is this supposed to be a film or a TV skit? I think the "Office," captures office culture fairly well on a weekly basis, and in just the right doses (Half-Hour).
  • Pete, the thing about Zach G is you never really know what to expect or what's happening. Nevertheless, it blows your mind. In a good way.

Saw this movie at CineVegas...the trailer does not do it justice! Zach nails this part like no-one else could. The entire audience would roar with laughter, then just minutes later be in complete silence as the weight of the heavier scenes set in. Great balance between comedy and satire and not overly "Indie" or "Querky" just to be different. Highly recommended if you get a chance.

Thanks for the CineVegas report, it mirrors exactly what we've been hearing. Hopefully, more coverage soon.

Its like looking into the future and seeing my new favorite movie.

what an utter waste of time.
  • ihartsf
Definitely looks Kaufman/Gondry. I'm intrigued and looking forward to this coming out.
