He was great in Disturbia, Transformers, Indiana Jones 4, and even Surf's Up(where he voiced in it). He was also good in his small roles in Charlies Angels 2, I Robot, and Constantine. But you guys should also watch the movie The Greatest Game ever Played---its a great movie and Shia is terrific in it too. And Eagle Eye is going to be awesome.

Chandleyr, you have a point, the pics and trailer do reflect the Enemy of the state vibe but hey isn't Hollywood remaking almost everything these days?

I guess the issue most ppl have here is the repetition of storylines and why writers can't develop plots that don't reflect new material. I love Transformers (and Shia in it!) but then why did that movie do well, is a question i ask myself. Was it because of star power or plot?

I'm dying to see this movie for very obvious reasons but objectively this movie looks great.

I also think Shia has a lot of potential and does seem to improve as time goes by. He looks more mature in these pics imo. This movie looks promising and all I have to say is that I liked the Matrix and Enemy of the State...so it's whatever.
  • is it me or when i see the trailer and those pictures i can't stop thinking about enemy of the state, the old thing with will smith. It got the same vibe coming from the trailer.

Except from that it looks damn good.

I think Shia has a lot of potential, I have no idea why people want to hate him so much. I don't think he has had any really great rolls yet, but considering how high profile he is now - I'm sure he is going to have a lot of choices going forward. I'll be interested to see if he tries anything challenging or unconventional now that he has been in several huge blockbusters.

I like Shia, and I love how everyone is calling this a Matrix copy just because the trailer mimicked the phone call Neo recieved. This looks pretty interesting, but I thought that the woman was trying to help Shia from some other unknown menace.

    @Sue

To be honest I'm a huge Shia fan. I have yet to see a movie that he's in that I haven't enjoyed. I think he's got potential to be an incredible actor and with each movie I see him in he gets better (except maybe Indy 4 but we'll talk about that later). Plus, HE'S SEXAY XD

As for this being a Matrix clone. Ummm... I really don't see how people are making that conclusion already. It seems more Enemy of the State then Matrix. I don't see any black leather or huge ass guns or crazy robots. Just a chick that talks to them via phone? I mean, that's a pretty weak link in my opinion. That's kinda like saying that every fantasy movie is a rip off of LotR because they have elves in it. Besides, those concepts weren't exactly new when the Matrix used them. You just have to dig a bit to find some phenomenal animes which did it long before the Matrix did.

Bottom Line: Good trailer, looks exciting, and it's got Rosario Dawson and Billy Bob Thorton in it. Can't be all bad, right? It's on my list.

Oh come on is there any person out there that believes Shia is a good actor, apart from me? Granted he's not a Ed Norton or even a Robert Downey Jr. but he can hold his own! I liked the trailer to this movie and i think the movie is gonna be stellar at the box office.
Cut him some slack. Not all actors are born great sometimes they have to be molded to become great

Calling it right now from that photo: Billy Bob Phones this one in.

Shia is about as gritty as a silk pillow.
  • Haven't we already seen The Matrix?
  • ?
this movie looks money. Shia is the man. If any of you haven't seen "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints", rent it now. Shia is the shit in that movie, the script and directing is badass, and Robert Downy, Jr. is pretty good in it too. Do it.

So, what is this movie about?

    Matrix FOUR maybe?

    The cast looks decent
