Requiem For A Day Off by Shakes McFadden

The Pitch: Shakes McFadden has created a new Ferris Bueller’s Day Off trailer using the music from Requiem for a Dream, proving once again that any movie can be 100 times more epic when you add Clint Mansell’s lux aeterna to the soundtrack. Note: the full orchestral remix is also used.

Very nice, it proves how important music is to films and also how different a trailer can be to the final product, very well done.

    THAT WAS BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!

if you showed that to someone who hasn’t seen the film, they would never belive what that film is really about.

    That soundtrack is amazing!!!!

    Amazing!
Shows how music can change the mood of a film. This bit just
sucked all the fun out of this movie. LoL Such a wonderful
    score.

    That was hilarious and lengthy!

  13. Gravatar

Wow, I never realized how depressing Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was. Good stuff.

  14. Gravatar

did not lol, way too long, edited poorly and doesnt sync well to the music most of the time. could have been great, i give this a d+.

wow, september11th is also the Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons. “Worst remix ever!” You have no soul!

That was great. I love that song, and the entire soundtrack from Requim. It’s a little long, but clever none-the-less.

Yeah, I guess it was kind of funny. There are definitely better re-cut trailers than this. I’ll admit they chose good clips, but 2 big problems: 1) It was way too long. 2) All it is is a montage–when cutting any trailer, you usually hint at a story, which this completely fails to do. All it is is a bunch of semi-dramatic moments strung together.

Wow… That had so much angst in it I felt like I was watching something by Ingmar Bergman! Any traces of the feel-good genre was ripped out by a pitch fork!

    …but in a good way. :-)
