i myself hav played both games...beat both of them many of times...pathetic i kno...lol...one thing im concerned about most is the story line...if the ppl who r making this movie were smart...they would follow after the 2nd game...or follow with the new max payne 3 that is supposed to come out at the same time as the movie...theres two ways the story can go tho...at the end of mx pyn 2...Mona Sax dies...i dont kno about the rest of yall...but i loved the chemistry between the 2 characters...yet if you beat the game on hard-boiled mode...she lives...that is the big ? for me...is she in it...if so...they better stay tru to the games flow of story...no matter what the writer decide to go with...the new max payne game...or there own imagination (which would be a mistake)...bottom line...stay true to the story...and whalberg and the action scenes should take care of the rest...MUST hav bullet time in there tho...lol

[...] Ultimately, this means that it’s not a fan film, and that they’re starting from scratch—which is a bummer. I hope it’s a ruse of sorts, where they’re merely going to reshoot whatever shots they’d already released publicly in their movie trailer. What a waste that’d be otherwise, to throw away three years’ worth of footage. Well, either way, given the controversy generated by Fox’s aggressive move against the fans, I suspect a lot of people can’t wait to see what Gibson and his team come up with, and surely more than a few will be hoping that it’s better than the multi-million dollar flick Fox currently has in production.
I have very high hopes for this movie. Max Payne 2 is still one of my favorite story lines in a game. It COULD be amazing, like Sin City was...i just hope they don't ruin one of my favorite titles.

I really hope they nail the atmosphere and the tone the game had. It could get really creepy at times, and the music really helped to sell that aspect. The game was very stylistic, I only worry that the movie will come off as generic and easily swept aside other wise. I also hope they get creative with the bullet time, or look at it from another angle, approach it cleverly. At this point it's so much a gimmicky device, I wish it would just die, but, wouldn't really be Max Payne without it.

@Christopher Marc: I know it's stupid! But changing that is even more stupid, it's part of his design and the story. Every clone has a barcode on this head. That's the only thing that separates them.

because in reality someone like that wouldn't have a visible tattoo that could be easy for law enforcement to identify...it would be like walking around with name tag or something...plus the bald head and gloves were enough things from the video game character....

“The video game series is known for its Matrix-like bullet-time, graphic violence and profanity.”
...also, it's story-driven nature involving a graphic novel style during important moments, or cutscenes. Altogether something like Sin City. Loved the first game but never got around to playing the second. This movie adaption doesn't look too promising but I'm holding onto some hope.
