I am so disappointed in this movie. No explanation, no sense, please movie producers, do not fund any more of M. Night's movies. Please no more! We don't need another 6th Sense, you can do better. I really don't think it was worth the $1 my sister paid from the RedBox. Please no!

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. For those who don't think the plot was believable, I certainly found it more believable than Lady in the Water or The Village. It has been a while since I got as many chills during a movie as I did during this one. The scene in the Jeep in Princeton was great, as was the entire sequence involving the old lady at the end. In my opinion, movies are made to entertain us, and it did the job for me.

I found this movie entertaining and intriguing. Mark Wahlberg gave a strong performance as he effectively displayed a whole range of emotions. What an interesting and unique cast of supporting characters! The unpersonified villain was a bit different and hard to get excited about, but Shyamalan executed it well. Overall, this imaginative movie kept me interested which is more than I can say for the more highly acclaimed Indiana Jones and the Kingdom...which was absolutely the most hackneyed and monotonous show I've seen in quite some time!

I find it hard to believe that M. Night and the others involved in the creative process could feel like this was remotely worthwhile on any level. If MNS was trying to make a statement about how we as humans are destroying the world, and that nature somehow is trying to fight back, I guess I give him that. However, as much as the environment was far from believeable, the acting was even farther. I am glad I didn't have to pay to watch this. I heard it was bad, but still I like to make my own decisions. I have never been let down by a movie with MNS involved, but this is a first. I just am sorry that it had to be him. I believe, even after this flop, that MNS is still one of the best producers out there. I hope to see a nice rebound after this.

I want to know WHY and HOW all the scenes show the mike boom looming above the center of the screen. This was so incredible! It can't be that the director and editor were CHEAP! What happened to good writing, plot, character development, resolution of a problem, hope if not a happy ever after ending? Even a zombie movie has a good ending if you give the people enough ammo! This movie didn't make the B movie grade.

I went expecting not much due to the previews. I was very happy and I think its crazy to read these reviews from people who more than likely work at taco bell. It was very original and unlike a lot of movies out there I was kept in its "reality".... I guess you would say. I never questioned anything due to it being out of place. I was never like..come on thats b.s. which happens all the time with the garbage coming out. Just go watch wanted with angelina and figure how the guy shoots wings off of flies...I mean come on! Anyway, All of his movies are very good.

Okay - let me preface this by saying that I enjoyed M Night's 'The Village' and 'The Lady in the Water' - the former because of the beautiful characters and thoughtful ideas of escaping evil via isolation and the latter because of the whimsical nature of the tale and the excellent acting by Paul G. and Bryce Dallas - which made even that nonsensical tale so beautiful.

This film has AMAZING moments. You cannot tell me that (after you get past the horrid cloud opening credits) and you see the ladies on the bench - followed by the construction/skyscraper jumpers that you are not emotionally and mentally awake and on edge. The PROBLEM IS that after that, the acting has to carry the movie. The acting by Zooey is HORRID and the story that M Night has here does not flesh out the characters. Unlike 'The Village' and 'The Lady in the Water' the audience does not have the chance to experience the depth of either main character.

The story is so plausible, frankly scarily possible but it is not entertaining. Then M Night throws in bits and pieces (insane hermit lady and vulgar youths/close-up slaughterd).

I am NOT of the opinion of several other posts here that this movie was funny at all. It is a very serious and disturbing look at a catastrophic event. However, the fo-romance and lack of character development overshadow the stunning scenes (intro and jeep ride, police gun).

I remain willing to view M Night's future films because even when he 'fails' to pull the story together with his actors here, he does have unique ideas and different ways of potraying them on-screen.

Some films make you think and this film made me think/puzzle and critique. It was NOT entertaining and that is why so many people (especially the mind-numb critic lemmings) - their opinions are all alike - do not like the film. Because it is NOT meant to coddle you all the way through and grasp your interest. It is a story/idea/event which is portrayed very realisticly.

all total 3 out of 5 stars because at points the movies it breath-taking. the acting of the main 'stars' is horrendous and at times-lifeless.

My ten cents - feel free to bounce back thoughts!

well I mean it made 30 million it's first weekend that par's with his second film Unbreakable. It is doing well in the box office now. And I still stand that there is a twist I guess I understand the point because I was one of the few people that was interested in this movie.

I can see why people might dislike this movie but in my opinion this movie beats the critics by saying M. Night Shamylan has the nerve to be himself which is why he is being criticized. He also is a good film maker without a doubt and this movie makes that statement more clear.
