This is another Eastern/Western distribution thing, taking advantage of other countries ideas and films and porting them to their respective countries. we saw this with the Jhorrors, Ringu/Ring, Ju-on/The Grudge. However this is based off of a korean horror film with a slightly different story. The film is called Into the Mirror (2003). The Plot (given by imdb.com):An ex-cop now working as a security guard in a shopping mall tries to uncover the secret behind a series of mysterious deaths linked to mirrors.

Eh. I don’t see anything in the trailer that warrants a laughing ovation. People are strange… Then again, they were at The Happening. The movie doesn’t look too bad, and hey, it’s got Kiefer!

Juon was totally frightening in my opinion. This looks like it’d be kinda scary, but a lot of american horror films fail because it seems like they need the narrative thread and explanation to be too laid out and wrapped up. yeah, that does sound snobby of me. i’ll try to do better!

The trailer doesn’t excite me in the least, but I like
paranormal horror, so I’ll give this a chance.
Plus, I like Aja’s work, so I would like to believe this is
simply a mediocre cut trailer.

@FR - I’m another Zombie fan. I can’t wait to see his
next couple of projects.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again - Alexandre Aja is solid.

I loved both “High Tension”, and “Hills Have Eyes I”.

I think he’s the only guy who’d actually managed to pull off an excellent horror movie remake (Hills Have Eyes I).

IMHO, there are several directors, who I think are on the forefront of the modern horror genre - Guillermo Del Toro, Neil Marshall, Rob Zombie, and of course, Alexandre Aja.

I’m definitely watching this one.

Hmm……

The trailer doesn’t show much in the way of scene or general plot, but I’m still intrigued.

Now for a brief, slightly off-topic rant. Whenever I hear a story about critics laughing during a movie screening/preview, I can’t help but get angry. I mean, they always have SO much to say but never create anything of their own. Now, that isn’t to say I dislike ALL film critics, I just think the few that never contribute anything of value to the film industry yet are still exceedingly negative when reviewing films are not within their right to do so. There’s so much more but I’m off to watch a porn video I bookmarked earlier today (which, by the way, is averaging a solid 4.5/5 stars on Redtube) while eating my dinner of Reeses Puffs and Hot Pockets. Have an excellent evening good sirs.
