Remakes these days are usually the result of a failed franchise (Batman) or a miserable start (Hulk). With that in mind, what the hell is wrong with the original Robocop? Wait...I remembered Robocop 3 as I was typing this. Nevermind. Carry on, MGM.

They should call up the guy who played Protocop in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang if there's a scene where Robocop picks up some chocolate chip cookies and then falls over a ledge.

I've always wondered how a RoboCop remake would do if ever redone. I've always thought that the RoboCop character / saga would be great now-a-days with Hollywood pretty much consisting of a blue / green screens. Heres to hoping...

and it's more than i wanted/expected. having read the screenplay, the vision jonze is producing is more epic and expressive than i had ever hoped for.

Since Robocop has bigger balls and actually kills people. His acts of shooting criminals in the dick and turning people into walking noodles is why he owns Iron-Man for days.

Also, his fist-spike and pistol-machine gun is just awesome.

I loved the first Robocop. I wonder if I still would today? I seem to remember that some of the stop-motion was a little cluncky. I wonder if the director would ever think about going back over the film and fix up some of the stuff that could have used it. Re-edition on a special DVD or Bluray.

I need to watch it again. Starship trooper rocks as well. They should be watched back to back. It's the same director right? I could google it, but I'll just let you wacky message board trolls answer it for me.

And by the way, a Robocop without brutal violence is not worth watching. R or nothing.

Robocop doesn't need a remake. Like Jaws...theres no reason to re-vamp it.

I actually think a remake is a good idea. Robocop was very much before my time but having heard so much about it I rented it out the other day.
It's really not that great, in fact I'd actually call it a bad movie. The effects are terrible in parts and it had way to much of that 80's action movie cheesiness about it. Was Robocop 2 better?

I just loved the social commentary in the first Robocop. I very much doubt they'd be able to keep the original feel of the first Robocop movie in a remake.

Considering how PG-13 is the flavor of Hollywood for most anything today. I can assume this will have a planend toyline and videogame in the works as well. Pretty sure this will most likely resemble Die Hard 4.0

You'd be lucky to get any of that subtle political and social commentary in this remake plus graphic violence.

Un-necessary. The first Robocop was a classic, that you can not mess with. That would be like re-making Blade Runner, or Alien. I know that the other two Robocop's were lame, and the tv show was awful, but leave the original alone!

They could rip ideas from the cartoon series for their PG plot!
