not surprised. the acting in most horror movies nowadays is shit anyways. and to be honest, i’d watch a show about some nobody trying to get a starring role in a shit movie, as opposed to herpes-ridden street trash trying to win the dick of some crusty old rockstar any day.

“Major Role” is a vague term. It could mean the “actress” gets to play the role of the first victim of the slasher thus setting the story in motion. See how it never says LEAD ACTRESS.

I don’t see how different this is from having auditions/screentests other than the fact it gives the studio/movie a lot more publicity then it normally would.

It all depends on the format of the show. If it doesn’t resort to some silly weekly elimination challenge then perhaps it stands a chance.

This show could be good if they don’t have people who are desperate to be on TV and/or a film.

But this film is not going to be the best film idea there is going to be.

the roles are going to be people who die in the beginning.

Yuo have to admit, it does sound like a much longer process than the “best blowjob in my office” competition.

Truly, I think that there could be a lot of value in a show like this. It takes special talent to run through the freezing woods in a wet t-shirt.

Shia LaBeouf got a lot of attention from The Battle of Shaker Heights , but he was already an established actor at the time, having starred in the popular Disney Channel tv series Even Stevens and starring in the big screen adaptation of Holes.

And it should be noted that I LOVED Project Greenlight, but for some reason the idea of giving a starring role to a reality show winner seems different than giving a writer/director the chance to bring his idea to the screen.
