well, the HDTV was first demonstrated in the united states the year after this interview. i wouldnt be surprise he was talking about it for the future of filmmaking, cable, and widescreen. that reminds me that the ‘91 film ‘until the end of the world’ featured a HDTV on film.

Henson was a genius along the lines of Disney, Lucas and other BIG film players. In these times of low expense production, I really hope that hundreds of small, innovative, creative Henson-type studios spawn from the depths of media. A true inspiration.

I want that book that the camera focuses in on at the end!

Jim Henson was a wise man. I think he would created a lot
of awesome projects had he not passed away. I still get
sad thinking about that day. I hope the bio pic they make
does justice.

Just goes to show how extraordinary of a person Jim Hensen was. But 26 years ago he was talking about High Def? If thats the case why’d it take 20+ years to make those things happen? I doubt Hensen was the only person back then who knew about this stuff.

Henson would have been such a ground breaking film maker today. Unlike Lucas, I believe Mr. Henson would have used his powers for good. Great stories told with cutting edge fx. I’ve missed this guy since the day he left. Thanks for the video.

ill take hensen’s creepy puppets over cg creatures ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

and agian i gotta say please please please let the film gods see fit to have kaufman write, DDL star, and jonze direct the film biography of jim hensen’s life. it has nothing but joyful tears of heartbreaking brilliance written all over it.
