I’ve always wanted to buy one of those Star Wars Force FX lightsabers, but I’ve never been able to settle on a make or model. The Star Wars Force FX Lightsaber Construction Set lets you build your own lightsaber (Over 700 possible configurations), and even change the color of the blade to whatever color you want (red, blue, or green), whenever you want.
“To be a Jedi, you must construct your own lightsaber. Finding the right crystals and metal pieces to forge your own weapon can be difficult, but the Star Wars Force FX Lightsaber Construction Set makes it easy for you. In just seconds, you can assemble 5 pieces, a blade, and some batteries to forge one of over 700 possible configurations of lightsaber! Use a variety of pommel, handle, and detail parts to create a personalized weapon that looks just like the ones that belong to Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, or Obi-Wan Kenobi… or something totally new that’s uniquely you!”
Check out Entertainment Earth’s demo video below:

Radio Shack has sold this exact same thing for the past year. It’s a clearance item now so you may need some luck finding it. Still, it’s marked down to $34.97. That’s a heck of a price drop. go to radioshack.com and search for item 60-249. Click the “may be available near you” link and enter in your zip code. Good luck. Sure beats $99.90 for the exact same thing. It’s pretty cool.

Does anyone else think that the guy’s voice in the commercial sounds like Steve Carrell?

NH, Whatburger also calls their breakfast burritos “taquitos.” So I don’t believe their accuracy on combinations. :P
When you exit the Star Tours ride at Disneyland, you are cattled into the SW shopping area. There is a place against the back wall that has a bunch of different variations that you can build your own lightsaber, similar to this. It’s kinda cool. Except for the fact that it’s all plastic, and looks plastic, and feels plastic, and will break as soon you wave it around.

…..sooooo, if someone would go ahead and buy two of those, mod them to make a double bladed one and post a youtube video detailing how I might do it myself?

Big Daddy is right about the quality. I found some at a local close out store for under $50 and bought a couple for my kids. They each got a “real” force fx at Christmas and I cringed every time they battled. At the closeout price I don’t mind them going out and having their “Jedi battles.”
The blade lights up differently and is not as bright, also the blades are shorter.
