The movie was great for the same reason the series was great. We wanted to be reminded that we can be mothers/lawyers/power brokers while being sexy, raunchy, ditsy, and fashionable. It was a great opportunity to laugh at ourselves and acknowledge that getting older does not mean we have to give up all the fun things.

It felt like a reunion with friends and we did not expect it to be more than a really long episode…

For the record, I’m gay and a fan of the series and agree with the ‘didn’t like it, didn’t not like it’ assessment. Four central conflicts was too many, and only Carrie’s was reasonably fleshed out if abruptly resolved. I think the movie left me more depressed than anything — the biggest change from TV to the big screen was the lack of the series’ levity.

I REALLY said the same thing, this was the perfect place for single men… Amazing!!! Great article but I do love this movie.

Why do they try to gender divide the audience just because four woman star in it? If it is well written and about Woman why do men not want to see it and have to attack it? It’s ok for Woman to listen to the guys talk about fucking woman on Entourage and a bit thing is not made of it.
Anyway, I am Male and enjoy the show because it has great writing and even though the movie isn’t as sharp it sure is a pretty damn good movie and entertaining.
Much better than Indy 4 also.

From a female … He is truly right on point. It was a 2.5 hr episode. But it did serve its purpose. And as for the male nudity. It was some very prime species mind you! But at the end of the day, it was another episode. Still I enjoyed seeing what my old friends had been up to!
