i didnt know that Hasbro thought demonic possession and murder was pg-13 material. I would think that Ouija Board The Movie would be full of horror and gore, and some nudity. I mean, at least some teen slasher type stuff, with like megan fox getting naked and possessed or something.

i guess the excorcist doesnt feature the ouija board long enough to be the definitive film, even though it does show exactly what happens when you play the game.. cuz thats what happens everytime i have played it.

The mere existence of Witchboard(s) does not automatically give it superlative status within the surprisingly slight niche of Ouija Board films.

For instance, if one would like to view a definitive movie about a man being eaten by a bear, one would recommend Werner Herzog’s Grizzly Man. While there are very few films that fit this sub-genre (like Witchboard), Herzog’s documentary presents the subject matter’s requisite plot points, horrors, and minutiae in an original, enlightening and satisfying way so as to be definitive.

If someone asked you to name the definitive movie about Nascar, would you hand them Days of Thunder? Talladega Nights? While those films are the best known amongst a very small number of Nascar movies–and while both films have entertaining/memorable aspects–neither is a definitive take on the subject matter. The definitive Nascar movie simply does not exist as of 2008. Yet, if you expand the genre to include race car movies, one might suggest Two Lane Blacktop.

Plus, Witchboard is kind of lame.

I don’t understand.

How is Witchboard not the definitive Ouija Board movie?

Ask any horror fan with any hint of familiarity or memory about a Ouija Board movie and they will immediately refer you to the Witchboard franchise… not that the movies were actually good, though the second movie had an amazing poster:

Has anyone actually liked a Platinum Dunes remake besides the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre? And would anyone have liked that movie if it weren’t for Jessica Biel’s abs?
