I loved it! It was warm, funny, extremely well done, and undoubtedly would appeal even to non-Star Wars fans. The cancer-plot is vital to the spirit of the film, and the fact that the characters were aiming to see "The Phantom Menace," and experience the full joy of Jar Jar Binks, served as an enjoyable irony throughout the whole film. The warm applause Kyle received from the entire audience in London following the roughcut premiere testifies that everyone present at that time agrees with me. I am very excited to be able to see this original version again later this year! The rest seemed like a poor execution to me, breaking the line for no apparent reason, things like that. Newman back in the editing room seems like a PR ploy more than anything else. Imagine the poor kid who was dying? Having to go out with Phantom as his last SW film, no Clones, or Sith...just Jar-Jar. If I were them I would have lied to the guy, and told him I couldn't get a copy, and give him the dignity of having Jedi be the last SW film he'd see.
