No one could be as proud of Fred when I observed how much respect he earned by the crew and all of the staff when I visited the movie set of Longshots. He wouldn’t rest until he had done his best on every single aspect of directing this movie. I know you are saying, “But you are just his mother,” but what you may not know is that I have always been his hardest critic. I tell him the truth just as I am telling it to you.

Longshots is a tremendous movie. Icecube is an unbelievably talented actor in this movie, and was so humble to everyone. (He gave up his chair to me whenever I came onto the set, like a true gentleman, insisting that I be as comfortable as possible.) I will never forget his kindness and neither will the entire crew.

So, as with Fred’s music you love to hate, I hope you love to hate the wonderful director, Fred Durst, in the movie, Longshots.

Having Fred Durst as my son is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to my life. I have always loved to love him.

You know its sad that people act as if Durst has behaved like Michael Jackson. Oh no wait a minute people still buy Jacksons stuff despite his past. Double standards to say the least.

First and foremost, I have met Fred Durst, on more than one occassion, casual and business. He’s an idiot, and a self proclaimed idiot. He’s self loathing to say the least. Yet, also full of himself. I think they call that Bi-polar. His music was always dreadful, which matched his personality. After his music fell apart, he looked at the next venture and became obsessed with flims like Finchers.

Great, he took notes from Fincher. He probably saw a lot of movies, and maybe read a book or two. He had some connections via an agent and was able to tie himself to a project. But, a mimic of Fincher he is not. A great director he is not. We have enough hacks in Hollywood making movies. There are tons of great directors out there who will not be noticed, or have the money and connections to get a film out like Durst. It’s unfair to those who can create real art. Durst is unoriginal in all aspects of his life.

So, I choose not to see this or endorse any of his ventures as long as he is alive (or dead). This is not to say that someone like Chimaera shouldn’t see it, or buy the DVD. But, it would be great if he didn’t.

Wow, your opinion is really relevant. Please tell me how your refusing to see the trailer helps anyone? Gain some perspective or spare us the wasted space.

As for the trailer, it reminds me of the movie “Gracie” first girl on a school soccer team…first girl in an all boy football league…yeah. That being said I think the trailer was well cut compared to other similar movie trailers I’ve seen. But just like Gracie I’ll probably wait to see it when it comes out on DVD. All hail the Red Box.

it was an old MTV News interview with durst, where he said he had been hanging out with fincher and taking notes. i remember one specific quote where the interviewer asked durst if he had any tips for new filmmakers, & durst replied, “yeah, don’t move the camera around too much.” now, that isn’t any real advice for any filmmaker to take (as things are more complicated than that), but i gotta be honest, for a basic feelgood family sports film, it looks like durst did a decent job.

i don’t know if ya’ll remember this, but durst was attached to direct ‘lords of dogtown’ at one point.

also, i’ve always thought ice cube was a great actor who never uses his talents enough. if russel could capture him in three kings, i know there are other great roles he could do. but for some reason he keeps picking shit - this movie excluded.
