The art director didn't come up with this concept for the posters, he took it from an artist who works with street art.

You don't need to be a fan of the Evil Dead movies to love this play - it is very clever with great music and is downright hilarious. I had NEVER seen the Evil Dead movies (but I have now!) Plus, it is also a hilarious send-up of musicals in general.

So if you have ever seen any horror movie, or any musical, you will like it. Keep an open mind! You don't have to get splattered!

Saw it again last night and it's been extended (again) until July. They're making a film version slated for 2009 but I refuse to see it if Ryan Ward (or Bruce Campbell...) isn't playing Ash. If he isn't Ash when you see the show, you've been sold short.

Anyone hating on this play without seeing it is stupid. It's so faithful to the movies, but the songs are brilliant. It's violent, filled with fucks and shits and bitches, and the set design is brilliantly simple.

This was probably one of the greatest musicals I've ever seen. Any Evil Dead fan should do themselves a favor and see it.

I have to admit - I saw the play back in Christmas of 2006 during its New York run and I absolutely LOVED it. The Splatter Zone was a lot of fun, especially when I got to walk around afterwards with blood on me. The songs are really catchy too. If you aren't for the release of the play, buy the CD. Seriously, it's pretty damn funny.

I saw Evil Dead: The Musical last summer around convention season with a friend of mine who was visiting. It starts out rough and I would even say it's cringe inducing, but I swear if you're an Evil Dead fan it will quickly win you over.

I happened to be sitting in the front row 'splatterzone' and was disappointed to not receive a single drop of sweet blood on me. That is, until the really last scene where they just go crazy with it. I wound up taking the Toronto Transit subway home where I kept creeping other passengers out.

Trust me. It's worth it just to walk down the street afterwards covered in blood.

Saw it when it was in NY two Decembers ago. It was probably the most fun a person can have at a broadway show. As a huge fan of the movie, it was great to see... and the crowd all yells along when Ash says "Shop smart... shop S - mart."

Saw it two winters ago in NYC and it was amazing, both for a longtime fan of the seies like me, as well as for my fiend who had no memory of her one viewing of the first film ten years earlier. Silly, gory, and campy with some really imaginative stage design. Plus, how can you go wrong with a showstopping tune called "All the Men In My Life (Keep Getting Killed by Kandarian Demons)"? Highly recommended, and I really hope it does return to the States.

Actually, the Mamma Mia poster is not available for purchase (just saw the show for the second time last week - so awesome!) Apparently the Mamma Mia people kicked up a huge fuss so you can't purchase it - just the others.

I actually saw the second ever performance of EVIL DEAD back in 2003. It was fantastic. Tickets were dirt cheap back then, not the outrageous prices they're charging now.

You're actually missing one other 'zombified' broadway poster from this campaign. It's a spoof of FOREVER PLAID. But the Mama Mia and Les Mis. are by far the best.

They're available for purchase for $10 each at THE DEISIL (in Toronto, ON, Canada) where EVIL DEAD: The Musical is now playing

Cheers

I saw it in NY the Thanksgiving before last and it was fantastic. I did sit in the splatter zone. The whole show was just campy goofy fun and you could tell how much fun this was for everyone involved. I worked on a horror film with Tom Sullivan last summer and asked him if he's been to see it, and he said yes and said he had as much of a blast as everyone there, if not more.

There's a petition online to get a tour together. People should go sign it.
