WALL-E in Toy Story? Fake

A new video has turned up online claiming that if you look closely, you can find WALL-E in the background of certain scenes in Toy Story, The Incredibles and Cars. And I wouldn’t put it past the guys at Emmeryville. If you watched the teaser trailer for WALL-E than you know that the cute little robot was just one of the creations to come out of a now infamous lunch that was also responsible for Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc and a Bugs Life. So it’s not like WALL-E was created yesterday. Pixar is known to throw a ton of self-rerential easter eggs in their movies. Jim Hill even compiled a great visual guide cataloging many of them. But did WALL-E really make an appearance in an earlier Pixar film? Watch the video below.

Before you go e-mailing all your friends, you should know that the video above is a well crafted fake by the guys at Facko. You will notice that WALL-E doesn’t appear in this screenshot below from The Incredibles.

The Incredibles

Although there is a bundle of trash that looks kinda like WALL-E if you squint (see the brightness corrected zoomed screenshot below).

wall-e in the incredibles?

We’re pretty sure that’s not our favorite little robot. Besides, it is clear that the Facko guys digitally altered the Incredibles image.

fake

The only Pixar film you will probably find WALL-E in is the short film Your Friend The Rat, which was included on the DVD release of Ratatouille.

Your Friend The Rat Title

Your Friend The Rat

WALL-E appears during a 2D animated segment during a musical fantasy sequence inwhich humans & rats are happily seated inside of this futuristic spacecraft.

  • Arnaldo
It's fake. I just checked the DVD/Blu-rays and he only appears in the Ratatouille short.
  • Vinny
Well, the Cars one was pretty cool and so is the ratatouille one, but the others....eh.
  • AJ
yeah the cars one is the only believable one (other than the "my friend the rat" one). Toy Story was completed or very near completion when they had the lunch (as seen in that trailer).
  • Jason
I think the only real one that I've seen is cars. Makes sense because cars is newer. Haven't seen Ratatouille though. Not so sure about the others.......

What's next? WALL-E shaped cheetos? WALL-E appearing on frozen food doors? WALL-E shaped toast?

    Is WALL-E the new Messiah?
  • carsdebunker
Hate to break it to you, but Wall-E does not appear in Cars whatsoever. Just seeing the video made me question. If Toy Story was alsmost done when they did the lunch, why did they decide to put Wall-E into it? So i searched my dvd's. There is not even a garbage can next to the house in Toy Story. Whoever made the video edited some stuff into it. Cars is the same. In the shot where Wall-E was allegedly spotted, he buzzed by fast, so I watched it at 1/16 of the speed to make sure not to miss him. Right as Lightning blinks in the online video, Wall-E is seen. However on the DVD he is non existent. Congratulations guys! This goes to show you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time. But nice effort.

Heh, actually guys, if you look closely right under the youtube video, you will notice something very interesting...

  • Totono
Hey did anybody read the article? The article states that the video is fake, before showing it to you, and at the end it does tell you that the only real Wall-e is the one in the Ratatouille 2-D short.
