Where’s the back story and the aftermath!? I want to know if the street is blocked off or if they got in trouble or what… cause holy crap, if my car got hit by a nine-foot Lego ball I’d be more than furious.

Hey Peter,
I’ve been reading /film for a few months now and I really enjoy it, keep up the good work. Now, on to business… I noticed you’ve posted on some awesome movie theaters like the Alamo in Cool Stuff lately. Well my dad and I are taking a Man trip from Detroit to Boston tomorrow (to see our beloved Pistons take on the Celtics). With us in Boston and Indy 4 coming out Thursday, I was wondering if you had any tips on a quality theater in the Boston area to check out. Thanks. If anyone else has any ideas that would be great.

Too bad Lombard is all crazy twists and Turns cause that would have been pretty fun watching that ball o’ Lego goodness twisting and turning.

Why the hell did they use Legos? That just seems like kind of a waste. It was a cool idea and all… But Legos? There’s cooler stuff you can do with Legos.

nerds man. For the love.

As has been reported elsewhere, I’m not entirely convinced this is real. I’m sure part of it is legos… but if it’s really 5 million pieces, and they weigh, on average 2.5 grams, you’re looking at over 10 tons of weight there.
Just saying.

LOL! That was funny. Though I wouldn’t be too happy
if a giant lego ball hit my car….

There is no way this is real. 5 million Lego’s would weigh a hell of a lot more than these guys could push.
[copy from gizmodo comment]
2.5 grams x 5 million = 12500000 grams or 12500 kg
1 kilograms = 2.20462262 pounds (Thank you google).
12500 kg x 2.20452262 lbs = 27557.78275 lbs
27557.78275 lbs/2000 lbs (1 Ton) = 13.778891375 Tons
Plus, why didn’t any of them break off?
Lame.

Its called Glue.. Perhaps you have heard of it, it holds stuff together….
My guess it they had a box or foam in the middle and put bricks around it
