My idea for Indiana Jones 5:

Indy, Marion, and Mutt have been living near the college for a year now, and Indy gets a phone call from an old friend: Short Round?! Shorty’s now a 21-year old living with Willie (his adopted mom) in San Francisco, and he plans a reunion, which the Joneses attend. At the party, Mutt and Shorty get in a huge fight over who was a better sidekick, and Willie and Marion start a friendly rivalry as well. Indy is pleased to see his old friends again, but the party is crashed by a rowdy hippie, who for some reason is looking for him. The hippie tells Indy that his “tribe” of peace-loving yuppies are looking for an archaeologist who can help them find the Fountain of Youth. Indy agrees to help them, and he decides to take his family, as well as Willie and Short Round, on the adventure. While all this is happening, a Communist who survived the chaos of what happened in the previous movie is plotting revenge on Dr. Jones, and implanted a spy camera in his fedora (?) when he wasn’t looking. The heroes and the hippies travel through the Everglades, fighting off alligators, giant bugs, more Communists, and some very…erm….large…snakes on their way to the hidden site of where Ponce De Leon found the fountain. They get there, and they see the Communist has already gotten to the Fountain. After a battle in the swamp temple, which Mutt’s switchblade and Short Round’s karate studies help win, the hippie thanks Dr. Jones and teleports away (?) Mutt is about to ask Indy if he was an alien, but it’s too late for questions- Indy finally jumps in the Fountain, and with a ton of CGI, Prof. Henry Jones, Jr. has been computer-generatedly changed into how he looked in Raiders! Marion jumps in as well. An astonished Mutt and Shorty look on shock, while a now-horny Willie gives him a huge kiss. Marion returns the favor and makes out with Indy. Indy just shrugs, saying “It’s always gonna end like this, honey, it’s always gonna end like this.”

A couple of thoughts on KOTCS, overall, it was a “fun” movie. Was it the best Indy movie? NO, not by a long-shot. Did Harrison Ford pull through? Yes, he’s doing great. I really enjoyed the fact that Indy’s role in KOTCS was played to his age. He is no longer AS physical, but can still hold his own when needed. What could have been left out?
- Mutt and the Monkeys. What was the point? It was completely juvenile. Just have Mutt swap cars, snatch the skull, and jump off - then meet up with his mom. Done… no dumb monkeys.
- Using the Snake as a rope. We get it, Indy doesn’t like snakes. instead, they could have made it so the Russians used snakes to weaken Indy into looking into the skull, etc… something… heck, leave the snakes out…
- cheesy line, “they all had the same problem, they weren’t you honey” not a shining moment.
- extra-dimensional beings… face it, they were aliens. they could have left the skulls/skeletons in their mystery, by simply blasting the russians from the temple, and having the temple crumble, etc.. we didn’t need to see the “fleshy” being hiss… we didn’t need to see a saucer… leave something to the imagination, please!

The biggest thing about Indy4, that I noticed, is that it was really the first “all ages” Indy. The first 3 were mature for what they were. The addition of Mutt and some of the other antics looked like they were included to simply appeal to kids. Not good, IMO.

As for Indy5,
Have Mutt go by his real name, or take his father’s adventuring name. nothing wrong with that. There would be something just “wrong” about seeing Mutt Williams and the Quest for Profits.
Leave Ford as the main for 5, at least for half. Either in the beginning, or the end… either way, it should be half-and-half, half indy/half mutt. That way, Mutt can be developed into an adult character versus a kid’s (no Jar-Jar!).

George Lucas needs to be chained up and locked away. Does anyone seriously think that an Indiana Jones 5 would be good!? Jesus christ almighty. That would be a worse idea then the animated “Clone Wars” movie, which is saying a lot. Stop bastardizing franchises Hollywood, there just fucking our favorite movies till no more money can come out of them. It’s sickening. George Lucas already royally screwed up Star Wars, somebody stop him and Speilberg before they rape Indiana Jones again.

First let me be FRANK. Shia LaBeouf is no Harrison Ford. If Spielberg makes a Indiana Jones 5, He better not pass the torch to Shia LaBeouf. This kid is a jerk off. He made a mess of the film.
Spielberg also made a huge mistake going with a film that was in writers hell for about 10 years. Indiana jones 4 was a big piece of crap. The only reason why the film bought in some much money was that everybody was craving a Indiana Jones movie for years. I love the the first 3 movies. Harrison Ford is now to old to play this beloved hero. He looked like my grandfather. Please leave the hero with some positive grace. NO MORE INDIANA JONES MOVIES..PLEASE!!!!

I like the idea. After all, way even introduce the character of Mutt unless he follows in Indy’s foot steps. KOTCS was actually pretty good, in my opinion. But please, if you going to do a series with Mutt in the lead, don’t make him have a different girl friend in every film. THAT is the one thing I didn’t like about the Indiana Jones films. Though I must say I’m happy he ended up with Marion.

4 didn’t work as well as the previous 3 as it was too much like a B-movie which I know Speilberg and Lucas were trying to achieve but it just jars with everything which we have experienced before. The Indy films were about religious artifacts not aliens and the Nazis were better villains than the Russians.
The fifth film will almost definitely be set after 4 which is a shame as Shia Le Beof will probably take over Ford’s role if they do a sixth and the series would probably work better if it was just Ford and a return for John Rhys Davies prehaps before the late 40’s so the Nazis would return.
4 is definitely the weakest of the 4 films but maybe it can signal the return of a cinematic legend and the 5th film will be one of the best yet.

MAYBE He should still have the starting role along WITH shia, then hands the torch down to shia and shorty to make their own series with their own title… harrison is the only indy

I really like Shai in Indiana Jones but I am strongly against an Indiana Jones without Ford. Harrison Ford MAKES Indiana Jones. I would definetely LOVE to see a 5th film with both of them in it but I still think Ford should be the lead actor and not just “coming back” as a supporting role.

i thought mutt williams was pretty awesome.i dont know if a mutt sequel would be the best thing though, i think it would be better if both indy and mutt shared the starring role.

you can’t have indy 5 without indy, but on the other hand you can’t have indy without his son mutt. thats just the way it is.

shia labeouf is pretty awesome actor and one of my favourites, but not sure if most indy fans would want to see him taking the lead in the series, as it has been harrison ford’s character for 18 years that thrived.

I’m glad you’re not ridiculing Shia like everyone else is, and I agree! What would make it even better would be bringing Wan Li back as Jet Li. The three of them (Harrison, Shia, and Jet\A.K.A.: Indy, Mutt, and Short Round (who ain’t that short no more))mtrying to find Blackbeard’s Chest in the eastern atlantic. Then Harrison ahnds the torch to Shia nd Jet and they make theitr own series.

i would love to see a fifth indiana jones flick.
and to see shia labeouf take the lead this time.
i not only love star wars but i also love indiana jones and the last movie that Harrison and Sean did together. Let see Shia and Harrison do it one more time.
if the story and the money, and the script is totally exciting, like the crystal skull
that was very important than the characters on screen. In the end of Indy 4 Shia was gonna try the hat on during the marriage, but Mr. Ford took ti. And that was funny.

LET’S SEE INDY 5!
