i have been involved with the batallion since '82. i have no idea what the screen play looks like; there should be levity and most of all the film- if it properly documents the facts -will reveal jim chanon to be a key figure in the transformation of the u.s. military especially the army. some of the black ops ronson writes about had to happen to be eliminated as they were a manifestation of the clash of the old with the new.

far from the blair witch project the earth batallion(s) projected the ethos which played a large part in regaining recognition for the soldier post vietnam. i recommend researching a recent training chanon did called 'operation noble steward'.

its too funny, disturbing and stupid NOT to be true.

I mean, these are the people who went to war with a podunk lil country along the mekong - and LOST.

the people who claim sole responsibility for winning ww2.

the people who claim that enemy 'soldiers' are criminals, and therefore not held like P.O.Ws but imprisoned indefinitely.
I'd be dissapointed if they weren't trying to kill goats telepathically like mary cathrine gallagher.

Please. The book "Men Who Stare at Goats" is about as nonfiction as the Blair Witch Project. It's a bunch of conspiracy theory nonsense along the lines of "The Philadelphia Experiment" and "The Mothman Prophecies."

I dream about the day we have the courage to make movies supporting America again. The US military is vast - it's just like post traumatic stress syndrome, for every 300,000 who suffer, there are 1.6 million who come back with a square head on their shoulders and a clear perspective of what we needed to do and are doing over there. Iraq and Bush have become the ultimate buzzword - ironically enough by a crowd that pretends to scoff at the existence of ultimate evil. After 9/11 and the ensuing chaos and where we are now, I wonder what kind of morbidly vast catastrophe it would take to turn sympathy in the direction of America again. Those who don't want what it takes to keep our country going don't deserve to live here.

Let me sum up my post by saying, can the Hollywood of today do anything BUT communicate extreme leftist messages that undermine America's role in the world? All these stars that flock to these kinds of films are applauded by cowards worldwide... as Europe succumbs to Sharia law and the real extremists continue to press on nearly unfettered with their unstoppable hate.

I have no problem with communicating any particular message with sensitivity, it's the sheer dominance of anti-American vitriol, thought, and intentionally poisonous and dishonest reversal of fortunes through sleight of hand and word that makes my stomach churn.
