I love The Incredible Hulk one of my top 3 most exciting superhero action films this year in 2008. Ironman and The Dark Knight are my other two they were just explosive man can't get enough. Can't wait to see Ironman on DVD September 3oth, 2008 this year, The Incredible Hulk October 21st, 2008 this year and The Dark Knight December 31st, 2008 this year all DVD covers are cool. Can't wait for Hulk 3 next Tim Blake Nelson will become The Leader and that is going to be awesome. Tim Roth, is on contract for 3 more Hulk films and I will definitely want to see more of The Abomination he was awesome in this movie fighting Hulk.

jbq,

For the most part Constantine was a good movie if it wasn't called "Constantine". If you take the title away and name it "Guy who fights the devil" then the film would still be good.

Even comparing it to the shitters that Marvel has pumped out is reaching. Especially calling it the worst comic book adaption ever made? Did you see Ghost Rider? Blade 3? Daredevil? Fantastic 1 and 2? Spider-Man 3? Elektra? X-Men 3?

I would still love to see a real deal Constantine film thats actually based on the comic itself.

[...] /Film points out a blue serum in one of the latest photos from The Incredible Hulk, which is supposed to be the serum used to turn Steve Rogers into the super-soldier Captain America. I remembered something being brought up about this at the panel for The Incredible Hulk at the New York Comic Con last month. So, I went through my notes and sure enough, producer Kevin Feige confirms to the crowd, which had just been shown footage of the film, that the serum is a Captain America reference. “Did you guys see the color of the serum? It’s Captain America’s color. So there you go.” [...]

Okay, okay. In my defense I was coming off of The Matrix when I decided to watch Constantine AND I went into it cold, not ever having read the comic so please don't bite my head off, lol. I'm sure had I read the comic first my expectations would have been different.

Agreed, agreed, agreed and about the interconnected Marvel universe....we can only hope.

What?! Constantine has got to be the WORST comic book adaptation of all time. Not only was it so far removed from its inspiration that why they didn't just call the character John Smith or something instead, and just left the franchise alone, but it was really, really boring. Pretty pictures, sure, but with a guy who couldn't act his way out of a phone booth, a weak-ass script, the worst Rachel Weizch-role in memory, and LeBeef. Even the interesting characters, such as the archangel and the devil, were pretty goddamn weak compared to how they are depicted in the comic (why the HELL change something that's provocative and original into something less provocative and less original?). The decision-making on that film makes no sense to me. No sense!

@ Captain Awesome

"So far in my eyes DC has the better track record in not horribly screwing up most of their primary characters."

Batman Forever. Batman & Robin. Superman III, Superman IV.

I don't care how financially successful Forever was, it was still an appaling film lacking the quality of its predecessors, despite a few good points. And I have no idea how Singer can deal with the "Lois' husband and son" problem of Superman Returns in a sequel/s without nuking either the source material further (which has been the main source of fan dislike of the film) or resorting to hackneyed writing. True, they could keep them, but the Lois/Clark dynamic is damned near the heart of the Superman comic lore and just forgoing that will only keep turning fans away and dwindle box office receipts to "unprofitable" very quickly.

But Marvel has definitely had its train wrecks: Daredevil, Elektra and Ghost Rider (notice a pattern with those 2?) were terrible, and I didn't care for X-Men 3 or Spider-man 3. The full creative control over their properties now gives me a lot of hope of seeing the interconnected Marvel Universe on-screen (e.g. Spidey kicking it with Johnny Storm at the end of a Fantasic Four movie [which may never happen], or Nick Fury talking to Xavier about mutant terrorism).

Um, sorry? I guess what I was trying to get at is that while Marvel is now flying solo and has creative freedom to do what they want DC is still tied down with collaborations. So it is in DC's best interest to dedicate their time to working on more "quality" films in lieu of focusing on overall "quantity". This, when faced with previous failures like you so helpfully pointed out.

And I really liked Constantine and V for Vendetta, but that could just be me. Can't say much for Punisher or Ghost Rider b/c I have yet to see either.

So far, Marvel's got Iron Man, X-Men and Spider-Man in the win column (maybe not every one of each franchise, but none of those are a Punisher or Ghost Rider).

DC's got Batman and... Shit. That's about it. Right? Am I missing something? Does Constantine go in the win column? Superman was a big stinker (though, even if you liked it, DC's dropping the ball), and I can't even think of anything they've got coming up other than Watchmen.

I guess V for Vendetta was pretty good. But we're still sitting at a total of TWO DC universe properties. Am I crazy? Am I missing something?

Maybe I should have been more specific in my original comment. When I say "DC," I mean "DC Universe."

I'm just rambling now. Apologies.

So far, Marvel’s got Iron Man, X-Men and Spider-Man in the win column (maybe not every one of each franchise, but none of those are a Punisher or Ghost Rider).

DC’s got Batman and… Shit. That’s about it. Right? Am I missing something? Does Constantine go in the win column? Superman was a big stinker (though, even if you liked it, DC’s dropping the ball), and I can’t even think of anything they’ve got coming up other than Watchmen.

I guess V for Vendetta was pretty good. But we’re still sitting at a total of TWO DC universe properties. Am I crazy? Am I missing something?

Maybe I should have been more specific in my original comment. When I say “DC,” I mean “DC Universe.”

I’m just rambling now. Apologies.

I think Captain America has a point though, as far as Marvel seeming to try to steam role all of their productions towards the Avengers movie in record time. If they aren't careful they might peak before they even get there. DC might seem to be taking it slow but they're apparently starting to really raise quality. Their quality over quantity approach might end up paying off big in the long run...It could be that Marvel saw IM's success and ran with it but I'm waiting to see how well IH does when it comes out before I start to compare "success" between the two (Marvel and DC).
