Downey Jr. was on Friday Night with Johnathon Ross over her in Britain last week and he said that he was definately signed up for the second film. He said something like, "I had the chance to opt out but enjoyed the first one that much that I signed for the second".

Of course, he may have just been bullsh!ting!!

This is pure bullshit,, Downey was already quoted saying that if they made an avangers movie, he would be the best deal on the bill.. he loved playing stark and would do 12 if he could

this is the EXACT same stuff we heard about tobey macguire between sm1 & sm2. 'he wasn't signed on for sure' coupled with cryptic quotes from the actor. it'll be funny to see if these silly rumors go as far as sm2 did - to get ironman it's own jake gyllenhall/replacement. lets see, how about one of the male leads from grey's anatomy (i'm sorry, it's a good show) - that'd be pretty funny. rdj will be back, these kind of stories are just part of the machine.

It's a negotiating ploy. This film is going to make a mint, and Downey & Favreau want a piece of it. You think Favreau wants to be known as Vince Vaughn's sidekick anymore? He's big-time now!

lol, Peter that Miller person keeps spamming on posts.

But back on topic, It all depends on RDJ's feelings towards the character. I mean this had to be a cool film to make, and if he cares for the character itself then he will come back. And based on the films success I am sure the studio is aware that if they get a different actor for the sequel that it might be a flop.

I'm pretty sure he will be back, and if not then the trilogy that is known as Iron Man will fall through the cracks and the first one will be the only one that stands out. Bummer

I don't understand why everyone is acting like RDJ isn't coming back or that Faverou isn't.

The movie made 100 opening. Got amazing reviews wide-spread.

THEY'LL BOTH BE BACK FOR THE SEQUEL.
