Wolverine and the X-Men

One thing is for sure, Marvel is on a roll - The new X-Men animated series doesn’t look half bad. Check out the new trailer below.

Wolverine and the X-Men begins as an explosive event shatters the lives of the X-Men and takes away their mentor, Professor X. The beaten heroes, including Beast, Storm, Cyclops and Nightcrawler, walk away from it all but then they are given a rare glimpse into the future, where they see a world in utter ruin…ruled by giant destructive robots. They discover the world has spiraled out of control because the X-Men have given up. So now the most legendary of all X-Men, Wolverine, must take the lead on the ultimate mission-to prevent the world’s destruction-while fending off enemies Magneto and The Brotherhood.

Wolverine and the X-Men will be shown on the Nicktoons Network, Nickelodeon’s 24-hour animation channel in 2009.

  • I love the original cartoon series from the 90s, but was never a fan of X-Men Evolution. I hope that this new series is better, but it still has that weird narrow waist animation style...

    Wolverine and the X-Men?? It looks cool, but I never liked how the X-men comics kinda turned into the Wolverine show. Now it's literally true. In all their different iterations the X-Men have gotten so mixed and mashed, every movie or show introduces a new continuity for the same set of characters, (none of which follow comics continuity) at what point does reinventing the same franchise every few years become so tired that nobody cares anymore?

    Yeah, that looks really crappy. They dropped the teenager angle that Evolution had, but yeah. It just looks kind of boring.

    Just bring back Batman: The Animated Series. That was the last great television animated series.

    Have Bruce Timm update the character and world design to reflect the current Nolan films. Like what he's doing with the Gotham Knight project. But have him do the art and animation style like in TAS within a series.

    The story looks really similar to the first season or so of the original X-Men Animated Series with the added tension of reuniting the team. The human/mutant war with the robots is pretty standard Xmen animation fare. Still looks better than X-Men Evolution and at least as good as the Old Animated Series. Still not Batman TAS or Spiderman TAS from the 90's....though I do here the new Spiderman Show is alright too.

    so lemmie get this straight, is this a continuation from the original show or a brand new vision? i remember the old show was loosely based from the comics, same to say for this new version?

    I loved the X-Men animated series in the 90s, but Evolution
    was pretty lame. This looks promising. I have a soft spot for
    the old storylines and uniforms, so I geeked out a bit watching
    the trailer. There were so many old favorite characters to recongize.
    I'll definitely give this a chance.

    I miss good superhero cartoons. Batman: The Animated Series
    was the best. I even enjoyed Batman Beyond, but The Batman I
    simply cannot watch.

    they literally ruin everything that makes wolverine cool by turning him into the leader of the team..just like x-men 3. not that it matters, it just means a generation of children don't get to enjoy an animated x-men as faithful as the nineteens fox cartoons unless someone older and wiser buys them on dvd for 'em. but what kid will care? seriously.

    I actually really liked the trailer. I think it shows promise and potential; whether it can be fulfilled, is another matter. Loving the big-scale feel of the cartoon, what with such a big squad seemingly assembled. Brings back memories of the 90's series.

    With that being said, I'm still not a fan of anime-influenced animation. Let's hope they prove me wrong on that front.

    Outside of Wolverine being in charge, which kinda makes no sense knowing that he is the lone wolf. I am kinda in. I liked the wide array of characters, its not like they picked 5-8 main characters, seems like they got a good spread.

    im the biggest x men fan there is, and that appeared to be very appealing. I foreshadow it will be a great success

    I still wish they would have continued with X-men Evolution. I was a sucker for that show... well... mostly Lance ^___^ tehe. He was so cutee, whenever he got a headache I just wanted to cuddle him.

    This new series looks alright though, I watched the trailer and it seems pretty interesting, but it seems a lot like what they picked up from watching the last 3 x-men films. Though maybe it's just me. =/

    It's still airing, I watch it on weekends. Toon Disney's Jetix, channel 108 on HBO I think. Awesome series.

    Anyway, although everyone says X-Men Evolution sucked, I loved it. I liked the style they animated in, and the voice acting was nice. Also, Logan's been in charge before, no surprise he's in charge for now. Still, though he's my favorite character (shut up, my opinion, not yours), I don't like so much that he's the centerpiece of the animation.

    Well, it looks like Rogue is going to be non-powered (except for her natural absorption ability) ... again. ::sigh:: I miss the Ms. Marvel powers, but it would be cool if she had the Sunfire powers ... of course, Marvel took those away, too. What is the deal with them? Are they trying to make her incredibly boring, or what? Rogue is my favorite character, but she's been altered so much in the films, toons, and comics, I'm left thinking they should just kill her off and be done with it.
    Also, from the new trailer ... since when does Xavier have a crisp British accent? sheesh ...

    Dave I am with you all the way but I also want the sexy love between Rogue and Gambit of the 90s series. that was so sweet. their on/off love was awesomely cute and the first one i saw was with Rogue and Gambit love. The sexiest couple in Marvel history (my chance) Keep the Love Train Of Rogue and Gambit Moving:) Chu Chu;)
