Remember how The Joker promised the new movie trailer for The Dark Knight on Sunday? Well it’s now Sunday, and the movie trailer is officially online.
This new trailer features some great moments and great quotes. For example, Batman flying through the air 100 stories above the city, or Harvey Dent’s “Either you die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain” or The Joker’s “The City deserves a better class of criminal, and I’m gonna give it to them.” The trailer also seems to confirm that the film has taken a new approach to the Two-Face origin. Notice how Dent is being held face down in a puddle of gasoline as opposed to the traditional acid storyline. The more and more I see of this film, the more and more excited I become. I also saw it, and actually thought it wasn’t quite as good as the first trailer. Maybe it was just because I had to do a lot of running around in the LA heat. But that’s not to say it wasn’t awesome. It just didn’t have the mystery of the first. It did have a lot of kick ass footage. I’m dying to see the movie… I’m hoping the last game will be the ability to see it on IMAX early… WOO!

Scarecrow is actually going to be in the movie, Nolan confirmed it, while it seems likely that the trailer will be shown with speed racer seeing as how they are both WB movies, just prey and hope it plays with Iron Man, the other guy had a point, the Spider Man 3 teaser played with Superman Returns, ones Marvel the other DC.
Just hope. Now I will take a crap load of sleeping pills so I’ll sleep all the way till sunday, when I wake up watch the trailer then go to the hospital to get my stomach pumped.

Mark, I think they gave a nod to the post-transformation in the trailer. At ~ 1:57, we get a shot of Harvey holding a pistol to the left of his face, and looking quite the worse for wear. Given the prior flammable liquid/acid scene confirming the left side getting f-ed up (as well as the toy), and the concluding argument about “hanging around long enough to become the villain”, I think it fits as the left side won’t get evenly/completely disfigured.
Pure speculation, but that makes it fun.

I also love how Nolan has pushed Batman into using the environment more likein the comics and animated series. That building jump at the start of the trailer and the shot towards the end gave me goosebumps.

The trailer looked pretty good. It is a montage just like the last trailer but i’m just waiting to find out how the Scarecrow fits into the movie. Hopefully he doesn’t die in this one. I hope that they show him in scenes through out the movie and then comes out in the end as the ultimate villian but eventually helping Batman kill the Joker. Runs away and we never see him again until he comes out in the third film.
* I just want to see Joker sprayed with the fear toxin and find out what his fear is..
* or watch someone get sprayed with it while looking at the Joker or Two-Face which will make their appearance even more scarier.

TDK is pretty much going to be “all Joker” if Scarecrow has any part in this, it will be very very small. It’ll probably be at the start or something and then he’ll be pushed off.
Mainly because Two-Face at some point will be shown somewhere later. Having all of these 3 guys would be a mistake and would steal any actual thunder from the Joker’s character.

I know the movie will be all joker but it’ll just be cool if they have a mini subplot to show the Scarecrow’s rise to full power. As long as the movie shows a lot of Joker action, then this movie will be the movie of the decade. Hopefully they don’t show too many trailers or clips on the web, or else it’ll turn out like Iron Man and Speed Racer even though we both know that those movies are going to make huge money in the box office. Heck, maybe TDK should be like that.

2:03 in, you see Aaron Eckhart as Two Face (but only from the “normal” side.) It’s the shot of him holding the gun. If you download the trailer in best quality, you can see the scaring on the edge of his chin and nose. Also, on his left shoulder, the suit he is wearing is all crumpled. I saw this in front of Iron Man on Friday. Great trailer, very exciting, but I wish they hadn’t shown Harvey Dent in the gasoline puddle. I’d rather not known how they were going to have it happen. Maybe some people won’t know what’s coming as marketing has done a good job of hiding “Two Face” from the commercials.

You can see the first clip of Harvey Dent post-accident in the trailer. Wait until he’s driving in the car holding the revolver near his face. Pause at this very moment and look closely at the outside edges of his face, you can see the burns.

I can’t get a full view of two-face, but it seems they put little to no effort into the look of two-face. Looks to me that his cheek is burned a bit and that’s all. Hope I’m wrong. But Tommy Lee Jones looked way better.

We think Rachel Dawes is going to die! Good! and this movie is going to be heavy on Joker with a Two-Face set-up that will leave us begging for the third movie to be in the theaters the day after we all see this movie!

this move looks great i think i will be the best movie of this summer but i think its time that people stop thinking about two face and just think about the joker for the move. The joker is there main fociouse and i think what tey are doing with the movie is genius they are bring in harvy dent which is a great idea because in the comic that the way he starts out and his frindship with bruse waine and his partership with James Gordon they are also using Sal Maroni and that is the best part because that is were two face comes in. But i hope two face is used for part 3 because i think it woud be sweet to save him and it woud be relly hard to be comferbaile with the joker and two face in the dark knight.

scarecrow footage has also leaked on the internet someone was able to record footage of him coming out of a van to talk to what looked like gamble’s gang. this film is going to rock, i’d nominate ledger now for an oscar if i had the power. i hope i don’t see two face till the movie, this must be one of the best marketing scams in movie history. Just wish they’d have something going on in Cardiff.

Having not seen the film yet, I can’t say for sure, but Johhny Depp wouldn’t be right for the Joker, should that character appear in sequels. It’s going to be really difficult to replace a performance like what I think Ledger’s will be, but if I had to recast the part, I’d go for Joseph Gordon Levitt. He’d need to maybe gain a little weight, but his facial features are similar and he’s a fantastic character actor.

Great trailer, but I already caught a mistake…when the Joker is walking down the street shooting his gun, you see a sign on one of the buildings that clearly reads “Sweet Home Chicago”. Chicago is of course where the majority of filming took place. Hopefully editors catch that before it hits screens. Not a big deal, but I noticed it without even looking for it. I’ll just put it in imdb goofs for The Dark Knight when the DVD comes out haha but they could have had a sign saying “WELCOME TO CHICAGO, WE ARE FILMING THE DARK KNIGHT AND THIS IS A SCENE WHERE HEATH LEDGER IS WALKING DOWN THE STREETS OF CHICAGO!” and it STILL wouldnt change the fact that this movie is going to be amazing

no, actually Nolan has said multiple times that the joker ISN’T the main focus, its mostly a story of harvey dent. The joker he said doesn’t even have a real story line, he’s just there to cause anarchy that’s it. The joker is my favorite villain don’t get me wrong, but dent/ two-face are the focus, though more of the “big bad harv” side of things. and Nolan and Eckhart have also said that dent even tries to become a sort of vigilante, it’ll be very much like long halloween it sounds which is probably my all time favorite batman story.

Ledger is gonna be amazing in this film! I feel so sorry for his family, that was so sad. icarlbrain, ledger did not obsess over joker. his death was an accident, its just that he could not sleep because he wanted to do a good job portraying the joker.

Don’t follow the path of the lemmings!First Harvey Dent was a good looking black guy, then he was a Craggy faced ,gravely voiced white man . now he’s a middle aged whatever. And as for Heath-I want to be Jack Nicholson Ledger ,his performance from what little is shown compares to Val-I want to be Micheal Keaton Kilmer when he had to step in the dark knights boots. Secondly is any one disturbed by the fact that he’s apparently wearing make make-up and not noticeably disfigured ?
I may just be a purist but c’mon, artistic licence aside, the Joker had his skin bleached by toxic chemicals and his face disfigured.When he’s leaning out the window of the car his arms are flesh colored.
I’m not saying the movie is going to suck or anything, how can you make that assumption from a thirty second trailer, but the one guy who said” ledger’s performance gave me chills probably “watched broke back mountain one too many times …..a little to closely.
I know hard core comic fans sneered and jeered at the casting of Keaton as D.K and were pleasantly surprised but I just don’t see this happening with Ledger especially with the cosmetic liberties the makers of the film took .
I sincerely I hope that Ledger performance does add something to the mythos of the joker and manages to over shadow the horrific treatment the geniuses in the art department or whatever, came up with because I am a huge batman fan , have the tattoo’s to prove it and have a two and a half year old who watches the cartoons every night before she goes to bed
