Some footage from the original Creature From the Black Lagoon, as well as the first sequel, Revenge of the Creature, were shot here Jacksonville, FL. Some other films shot here are G.I. Jane with Demi Moore(1994), Basic with John Travolta (2003), and The Manchurian Candidate with Denzel Washington(2004). Jacksonville, FL was a major movie location in the early 1900's. Oliver Hardy began his film career here, and there are currently plans to restore the historic Norman Studios.
