p.s. she was clearly the anchor and box office draw........i dont know how they will make a sequel unless they put her in that tub to heal her head/ or she cheated death someway when she curved that kill and suicide bullet. Angelina not in the sequel............that would be when the movie bombs.

I think you guys are forgetting Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which is a sequel any time she chooses to do it. Also, I believe she was critically acclaimed for the film she had out last year. She's not exactly hurting.

I think this film would do well if it didn't have such stacked competition. Who knows, maybe it will actually be pretty good. I see no bad side to that.

I think this movie will surprise a lot of people. And let's face it, Jolie is the ONLY actress that can HEADLINE an ACTION movie. But if course, if it doesn't do well, it's HER fault. It it does well. it will be due to everyone else. She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.

if they had FAITHFULLY adapted the graphic novel, it could have been great. sadly though, every post on this topic is right - it will flop hard. so stupid to see people continuously take made-up angles on succesful comics. i heard brandon routh (sorry i forgot the name of the comic book, but it's an indie) just got cast in a new comic film, and his first interview about it, he talks about some drastic changes they are making...which will lead to yet another flop! so fucking stupid.

I still haven't seen Shithead in the trailers for this flick. Until I see him, I refuse to call this movie Wanted. I call it "Fake Wanted."

Which doesn't mean it's bad, just barely related to the comic.

@Lisa

James McAvoy isn't the first Scotsman without name recognition to star in an American action movie. You just have to look at Gerard Butler and Ewan McGegger both didn't really have big names when they jumped into action films. But they all have in common great dramatic acting abilities. McAvoy is coming off with big successes with Atonement & Last King of Scotland, so it makes sense he gets the top billing.

Jolie does have her named thrown around a lot even when she's slightly attached. She has for some odd reason die hard fans which makes studios push her name. Now that her film career is starting to slow down because of charities she works with and her growing family. I think she's looking for a cash cow before she goes the Mia Farrow route. She has an Oscar and her talent really peaked back in the late 90's now it's just fading. Brad's projects seem to always be solid so I have no idea why she keeps taking risks in these horrible movies. She's at best C+ actress, with a taste for headlines...heroin use, tongue kissing her brother and all the other crazy stuff she does.

This movie won't earn a sequel for the simple fact she's attached. It might do well at the box office, which I doubt. Reviewers are going to tear it apart.

I think people still like Jolie. Notice her picture is the bigger than the supposed "star" of the film, "James Who?", but she's been showing up in crap films which lead to crap box office.

Come to think of it, she had the biggest part of the Beowolf ads too. All these people are leeching off her, without giving her the credit of being the biggest draw. Now I'm kind of pissed. They'll sell these films on the back of her popularity, but won't give her top billing or public credit for the box office that these crap films manage to do. That's sexism pure and simple. If any of these crap films do well, all the credit goes to the male "star", even if Jolie is the one who sold it in all the ads. She's the "woman/love interest/supporting character role" so she gets no credit, EVEN THOUGH ALL THE ADS SELL THE MOVIE ON HER BACK! That's horribly unjust.

I agree with Larry...Jolie is box office death lately....when will people begin to see how she can't act...she's like a cold robot when reading lines..monotoned to the max

This could have been a decent movie if they went less with the CGI, it looks like a poor man's Matrix
