The Duplass Brothers’ Baghead Movie Trailer

Baghead

If you still haven’t seen The Duplass BrothersThe Puffy Chair, you should netflix it now because it’s everything that is right with real independent filmmaking. And no, I’m not talking about multi-million dollay mini major movie studio funded independent filmmaking. I’m talking about a bunch of talented people who just go out and are able to make something out of nothing.

Jay and Mark Duplass returned to Sudnance this year with Baghead, a film about four actor friends who go off on a weekend trip to a cabin in the woods with plans of shooting a super low-budget independent film. But then a freaky guy with a bag on his head shows up…  It’s part horror, part comedy, part lampoon of the mumblecore sub-genre which the Duplass Brothers helped bring into popularity. Check out the trailer below, and tell me what you think in the comments.

Baghead is scheduled to hit theaters starting on July 25th 2008.

haha, that does look pretty good.

    That looks great.
  • Saw the movie at SXSW. Excellent film, I highly recommend to anyone. I am not sure how they managed to make a film that fits in so many genres but at the same time stays away from the "Scary Movie" style.
  • Brilliant! I can't wait to see it.

I was just going to ask that.

Also, it's kinda funny that this is coming out as well as that movie with the couple that goes to a cabin and people wearing sacks on their heads come and terrorize them.

I looked it up. From what I can gather, it's another word for "independent movie". How exciting.
  • This is what I love about movies. Taking a silly premise and building it into something awesome.
  • I think it looks great, something I will definitely see!
