Jonah Hill is in early negotiations to costar opposite Shia LaBeouf in Transformers 2 according to EW. Hill would likely play the role of Sam’s college roommate Chuck.

But of course, Michael Bay claims the casting breakdown which leaked to the web earlier this month was actually misinformation. Yeah, right… I actually think Hill would make a perfect addition as Sam’s conspiracy theory obsessed friend.

I don’t have an opinion either way about it, but I can see why he would want to be casted and why the studio would want to cast him.
He has a built in fan-base being the poster-face for the new genre of raunchy slacker teen comedys that have sprung up. I know the first time I saw him was in “Grandma’s Boy” and I thought he was hilarious. He’s perfect to lend ‘cool’ and ‘non-geek’ credit to the Transformers franchise in my opinion.
