Last we reported, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury had been waxed off the final cut of Iron Man, but fortunately that’s not the case. As MovieHole points out, Fury/Jackson does appear but not until after the surefire blockbuster’s end credits. He also delivers some spoiler-worthy dialogue [Slashfilm pistol fires in air], which we have after the jump. Because I can’t help myself, Peter says Iron Man is hot sh*t. Here’s what Australian journo, Adam Richard, told the Hole…

“Sam Jackson as Nick Fury is indeed in Iron Man. The final spool of the film was not screened to journos and reviewers as it only arrived in Australia yesterday ahead of premiere screenings. I saw the film a few weeks ago to prep for a Downey Jr interview, and went again last night (cos i loved it SOOOO much!) and at the end of the credits is an awesome 40 seconds or so with Stark and Nick Fury. I may have soiled myself slightly…”

So, what does it take from a Nick Fury cameo to make a grown man in Australia (which was notoriously founded by criminals and derelicts) nearly defecate himself? We’ve posted a spoiler description after the jump. Before we get to that, be a pal and shout out to your fellow clueless moviegoers that Fury appears. Or be a cool guy and just smirk in the dark. Decisions, decisions…

Discuss: Could Nick Fury whup Iron Man? What do you think of the spoiler? Will it happen?

This quote is also from MovieHole via an anonymous scribe…

“At the end of the credits, Stark comes home and finds Nick Fury in his living room -staring towards the window. He then turns to tell Stark he’s the not the only superhero in the world. Stark asks who he is, and Fury turns and says he’s “Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D, and I’m here to talk to you about The Avengers Initiative”.

Jackson is rarely better than when he’s staring out a window contemplating a diabolic future. Will the Avengers be forming like Voltron with Fav at the helm?

Could Nick Fury whup Iron Man? Uh no. He’s human, Iron Man is a man-bot. Seriously. If it was Stark vs. Fury, without a doubt.

i hope avengers is in the works, and while i haven’t seen iron man yet, i’m not feeling fav in the directors chair…then again, i could change my mind in a few days. i’d really REALLY like to see james cameron do avengers, but i know it’ll never happen.

Not only did they spoil every action sequence in Iron-Man through the trailers. They even gave away the after credits scene.

The credits and the movie studio logos are the only things I haven’t seen or heard about this film yet.

    @Awesome

You’re right cap. I think we should just mail in our 10bucks and… wait I’ve seen the logos. Haven’t you? No worries I’ll have my secretary’s secretary call your secretary and we’ll get them demystified over brunch. Maybe we owe them extra because the hype has almost beamed a fully formed film into our minds.

  7. Gravatar

well, i saw it in hungary and Nick Fury wasn’t there after the credits.

  8. Gravatar

The screening I went to did not have this end credit like it has been said. I am sure it was meant to be only for the mass public as a post like this could ruin the surprise :-)

  9. Gravatar

The screening I went to here in Germany did indeed have Nick Fury after the credits, and it was awesome. But most of the people in my theater were quite confused, because over here mostly no one knows who Nick Fury is :)

  10. Gravatar

Can someone who’s seen it already just give me a description of the credits at the end of the film?
Are they in alphabetical oder or are they in order of appearance?
So far…thats the only thing that hasn’t been spoiled…. So I bet they’re using a really interesting font. Something really special to WOW us all.

    Samuel is one busy guy.

  12. Gravatar

    umm, hunter…avengers don’t form….they assemble! sheesh. research!

  13. Gravatar

    SIIIIIICK!

Yo Hunter, have either you or Peter recieved the news that Ghostface Killah’s cameo had been cut from the Iron Man flick? I read about that in the rumors section on a another site.

  14. Gravatar

Was there an Incredible Hulk crossover like the rumors were suggesting?

  15. Gravatar

    p0seidon-

    HULK crossovers are discussed here-

    @ tobor68

Avengers might assemble, but Voltron forms. So ratatatat!

Has Samuel L. Jackson ever declined a movie role? He needs to take it easy, start being picky about his parts. I laugh every time I see a movie that he is going to be starring in.

“Deepest, bluest, my hat is like a shark’s fin.”

To the people who run this site:

Put a goddamn spoiler warning before ruining the ending of the movie. That Samuel L. Jackson is in the movie *IS NOT* common knowledge, and you put it in the motherfucking title of this news item? What were you thinking?

I’m not interested in having future movies ruined for me, so I will not be coming back anymore.

  19. Gravatar

Ok, well it aint really a spoiler until you click the read on after jump thingie. I mean, if no one would have told you, would you have actually stayed until after the credits, no one told you to click and read after the jump of what the dialogue is or nothing. I think the site is great, keep up the good work you all, this is my favorite movie site….. Anthony

Although I saw the movie before reading this news, I have to agree with Horatio. That was a major spoiler, and it might ruin the movie for some people. I didn’t even know _at all_ that Jackson was supposed to be in it. A simple article saying “Stay ’til after the credits” would have sufficed in my opinion.

  21. Gravatar

Ugh! I just saw the movie and loved it, left during the credits with the rest of the pack, and now I read this?!?! UGH! I so hate myself right now.

  22. Gravatar

Is it still a spoiler if I end up staying until the end of the credits, which I wasn’t going to do until I read this spoiler? Plus, Jackson’s voice is so recognizable.

  23. Gravatar

    @ Awsome
ya they did give alot away, but you could do like I do and make it a SURPRISE when you see it… don’t watch anymore trailors, don’t think about the TV when a commercial comes on, just walk outta the room, and dont surf the net for the ending!!! It almost killed me not to look at every site, but i’m still here… wait for the theaters…

  24. Gravatar

Cooool!!!! I went to see the movie, which was freakin awesome, on Thursday and stayed till after the credits. This obviously means a Thor and Captain America movie. Also that one guy in Afghanistan I know will beome the Mandarin. He talks about Genghis Kahn and his group is called the ten rings of power. Avengers assemble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. Gravatar

Uh, I went to a screening last night with Jon Favreau (the director) in attendance. He and Robert Downey Jr. introduced the movie. No Nick Fury appearance at the end and I waited until the end because there was supposed to be a Q&A after, but there wasn’t. If Fury was in any prints, you’d expect it to have been in one Favreau showed up with.

  26. Gravatar

so does anyone here care that nick fury is sam jackson?

why not bruce willis or something, equal badass if u ask me.

  27. Gravatar

For those who missed it [ I DID!!!! ]

The Bonus Ending of Iron Man!!!!!!

  28. Gravatar

Gah, I’m doubly annoyed–I spent $20 for that screening of Iron Man at the Aero with Jon Favreau and not only did he bail on the Q&A but somehow the print he provided was missing the surprise ending!!

Thanks Mingeh for posting it! Though the captchas at RapidShare are insane.

I do think that this clip should have waited until the end of the sequel, but hey, if they’re thinking about introducing an Avengers movie-series, that’s fine with me. :)

If you don’t want to know stuff, avoid the media. I haven’t learned anything about The Dark Knight that I don’t want to know because whenever I see press I close my internet browser. Get a life you bums!

  30. Gravatar

It’s been announced! The Averngers, Iron Man 2, Captain America, and Thor are all coming out between 2010 and 2011! Rejoice!

  31. Gravatar

Heres the deal, Yes nick showed up, and i know what its leading to. In the new hulk movie stark is in that too, i do believe there will be a movie about each avenger crew from the ultimate avengers, ant, thor, and hulk movies are already in works, and nick is gonna play a part in it all. So in conclusion welcome to the begining of the ultimate avengers.

This thread raises a question that one of you cinema experts might be able to answer for me. (I actually looked for some general info at the SAG website, but couldn’t find anything about this.) Let’s say someone was hired to be an “extra” in a film such as Iron Man… and they were actually paid for the day’s work… but the scene in which they appeared ended up on the cutting room floor… or, the scene was included, but was cropped so that they were outside the frame as it appeared on screen..? Would they still be considered to have been “in” the movie? Basically, if a person was a paid extra (perhaps even a “principle extra”) but they don’t end up with any actual screen time, would they be validly considered to be in the film???

  33. Gravatar

yes, the unedited reel will always be in tact and even after editing they still get the credit because they participated and studios usually dont scrap edited film, so the studio still has to pay the individual otherwise there might be a bit of an upriseing for rights to the footage.
