I wish there was something like this where I live... Would be cool to see such classics in the way they were meant to be seen.

I'm surprised more theaters don't do this. At least during the weekdays in the mornings... they could have "Classic Hours" from 10am-2pm where they show two classics everyday and charge $3 per movie or something. I'd be there everyday! :)

Old blockbusters on the Big Screen are a blast. I've had a terrific time at Poltergeist, Blade Runner, Jaws and The Terminator in the last several months. More fun than most new releases!

I write a blog with listings of theatres that show old movies. Find one near you and see a classic Back on the Big Screen!

Cheers,
Jonesy

I prefer the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. They often have awesome guest speakers. I've seen Peter Bogdanovich, George Lucas, Robin Williams, John Lassater, the dude who played Jaws in the Bond films, the woman who was Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird, and John K., the creator of Ren and Stimpy there, all in the course of a year.

They also have annual 70MM showings of films, such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Terminator 2, Lawrence of Arabia, etc.

That's some kind of company for Serenity. That movie is like a drinking game with me: Someone mentions it and wham, I gotta watch.

Anyone know of a good theater like this near Pompton Lakes, NJ?
