The choice footwear that unites many a geek, catch and wake-and-baker, the Vans Slip-Off ranks up there as the ideal shoe of summer. Artist Shauna Luedtke customizes the slip-offs (re: one of a kind) using waterproof acrylic paint and ink, and we’re digging the movie-themed ones shown on her site, Slipoffs.com, with her take on Bill Murray/The Life Aquatic (after the jump) and E.T. being particularly fetching. But where’s Spicoli?

One-of-a-kind?
Did people miss the 80’s and 90’s when artists we’re doing full-on paint jobs on these canvas slippers? My uncle for a while made good coin airbrushing these for people. Everything from comicbook scenes to graffiti pieces covering every inch of the shoe.

one-of-a-kind as in there’s only one pair of those E.T. shoes, not as in she’s the only person that has ever drawn on her shoes.

Is this one of a kind debate really happening? Lol.

@Captain Awesome: “My uncle for a while (…)”
Your “uncle for a while”? Dude, that doesn’t sound very wholesome…

One-of-a-kind doesn’t mean “first person to ever draw on shoes” it means, she makes each pair specifically to that one person’s needs or requests. I’m PRETTY SURE there isn’t another pair of green slip-ons with that exact image of ET floating around.
Get it? Her shoes RULE! You never see that kind of detail on shoes
