First Look: Kiefer Sutherland in Mirrors

20th Century Fox has released the first batch of photos for Alexandre Aja’s Mirrors. Kiefer Sutherland plays Ben Carson, an ex-cop turned night security guard at a long-closed department store ravaged by fire. Carson discovers that the store’s mirrors harbor a horrific secret that threatens him and his family. Aja is the writer/director behind the 2003 french horror/thriller High Tension. Sutherland hasn’t starred in a great movie since… what, 1998’s Dark City? Chances this could suck: 62.67%. Chances this could be awesome: 5.74%. I’m sure a trailer is upcoming.

i really liked high tension. i’m hoping our chances of this being cool are more like 75% : 25%, because it would be nice to see keifer do a good film again.

i’m not sure why they don’t take 24 to the big screen already. i think it could rival the mission impossible films, and the show has hit it’s ceiling on tv. with the right script & director, bauer could do very well.

    Lost Boys 3?

    “Cry little sister”

  3. Gravatar

    This film will fail miserably.

  4. Gravatar

dude…high tension was fucking great (not even a fan horror/gore genre)…and not to mention keifer did star in lot of films since dark city! DOUCH BAG!!! ….and you are suppose to be film blog critic….get a job kid!

  5. Gravatar

scar - you SUCK. Didn’t you read his post, it said starred in any “GOOD” films since Dark City. Can you read that now? Kiefer Sutherland really has sucked in all of his recent films.

“Get a job Kid!” What a lame insult. Why don’t you stop naming yourself after Lion King characters you fucking loser.

Isnt this a remake of a pretty cool korean flick “into the mirror”???

  7. Gravatar

    Exactly! This is a re-make isn’t it?

  8. Gravatar

This film will be a good horror but nobody in America wiill take notice.Serenity,Doomsday,Grindhouse.What the fuck is going on?

    @ Scar.

You are a child of incest.
Get back in your basket and shut up before I set you on fire.

Kiefer is a one trick pony.

  10. Gravatar

I’m sick of gimmicky horror movies. They just serve as a paycheck for minor A-list actors between their normal gigs. This will be horrible.

When it comes to his US record, Alexandre Aja has been solid so far - High Tension, and Hills Have Eyes (Part I).

High Tension was an awesome flick, but when I heard about him directing a remake of Craven’s classic horror, I thought it would suck, just like pretty much ALL remakes. I’m glad to say I was wrong, and he did an outstanding job with Hills Have Eyes.

When it comes to a horror movie, if it has Alexandre Aja, Rob Zombie, or Neil Marshall listed as a director - I’m sold.

I’m excited about watching this flick.

    @alex

Yup, it sure is. I just saw that movie last week too! Wow, when is Hollywood gonna get some new ideas?

  14. Gravatar

    Is Dave mentally handicapped?

  15. Gravatar

While I will admit Dark City was a pretty decent movie, you’ve got to admit Kiefer was not very good in it. His whole performance is reminiscent of the wheelchair-bound friend from Malcom in the Middle.

    Watch it again…it’s true.

  16. Gravatar

Guess why Kiefer hasn’t done so many good movies since Dark City. It’s because he made only a handful of movies anyway (check out Phone Booth or Behind the Red Door - awesome movies!). How should he? He’s working constantly and FULL TIME on 24 since 2001. Give him a break!

I’m looking forward to this. I like good horror movies and if Kiefer is in it, it’s perfect. :)

  17. Gravatar

Yup….definitely a remake of the Korean hit “Into the Mirror”.

  18. Gravatar

haha i liked the phonebooth or whatever it was called i saw it once and Mr. Sutherland was amazing
