Yes, here is this the scoop:

In this rather meta follow-up to Speed and Speed 2: Cruise Control, Sandra Bullock plays… Sandra Bullock, a former A-list actress who is struggling for a box office hit. Invited to the launch of Richard Branson’s first Virgin Galactic outing, Bullock seizes control of the ship and threatens to send its crew of luminaries into deep space unless she is guaranteed a top part, with gross points attached. Caught in the middle are famous guests such as Stephen Hawking, Bill Shatner and Carrie Fisher. Brent Spiner reportedly has a very funny role playing himself as an honored guest whom no one recognizes or recalls. Guests and crew eventually find themselves in support of Bullock and act accordingly.

gah. Bullock has had great longetivity in Hollywood, there is no doubt that she still pulls in the box office for her movies, something very few 44-year old actresses can do these days.
