If it was up to Superman Returns title star Brandon Routh, Warner Bros would have kept the Justice League movie in a jar for a few more years. Routh, who admits that he was never approached by the studio to be part of the now defunct JLA feature film tells Collider that the timing was off.
“I think we’ve been doing a great job representing Superman and Batman and there is definitely a time and place for the Justice League movie. I kinda think that now isn’t that time.”
As for the question everyone is asking, when will Superman fly again?
“I trust that we’ll be shooting Man of Steel early next year.”
Brandon Routh’s new movie Lie to Me will premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 26th.

I was looking forward to some harsh words. Still superman shooting next year is promising. Although superman returns doesn’t seem to be popular (i love it though) you have to admit brandon routh did a damn good job.

HAHA! This is so funny. Routh was groveling and publicly begging to be in Justice League last fall, but since they refused him, he’s all sour grapes now. LOL. He’s such a wuss.

I watch Superman Returns when it comes on, but I think it’s one of the dumbest comic book movies ever. You have a chance for Superman, the most famous superhero ever, to fight any of his villains but what does Singer do. He makes him a baby daddy and makes his hardest thing to face is picking up a rock. This one will probably be a little better but I hold this and Hulk as one of the worst comic book movies since they starting making a slew of em. Least Daredevil actually had enemies to fight.

Tune into the next episode of Deadbeat Dad:
How will little Mop Head take the news that daddy isn’t his real dad? Will Lois reveal to her husband that the child isn’t his? Will Hubby reveal to Lois his gay affair with Superman? For the answer to these questions and more …
Tune into the next Thrilling Adventure of Deadbeat Superman!

Superman is a good and necessary character for children. He is their hero. Children want to be like Superman.

“Superman Returns made over 600 million when you count box office, sales to cable/networks/toys and DVD sales. Albiet, it did cost about 200 million to make with another 75 million that was used to promote the film. Any loss incurred by other Superman projects prior to this were absorbed at the time.”
`Warner Bros.
Geez, Returns wasn’t perfect but the special effects were awesome.
Some act as if the film lost money. It didn’t make Pirates money but did gross more overall than Batman Begins which was in fact..slightly better. Man Of Steel…Angry God stuff…will be terrific.

‘Google
Nice puffery superfan, but the power of Google has exposed you. And you would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for those meddling kids!

I totally agree with Routh!! No one is ready for a JL movie. I think it would be kind of weird to put out a JL movie without Christian Bale as Batman and Brandon Routh as Superman. Christian Bale is no doubt the best Batman, because he brought it back to it’s original roots. If they decide to make a JL movie without Christian Bale im not watching it. I don’t want 2 batmans!! What if they put Justice League out at the same time as Batman 3????
April 24th, 2008 at 10:14 am
Michael Keaton as paranoid, hardened old Batman in Justice League! Now that would sell a butt load of tickets!

@rotfl
when did routh beg to be in jla? can u please give us a quote, because i’ve been following this one particularly close, and i don’t remember him begging to be in jla AT ALL.
anyways, i’m really dying to see superman back at the top of the comic book movie food chain. singer & routh will deliver on this, i have total faith.
April 24th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
rotfl,
Where did you hear about him begging to do JLA? That’s the first time I’ve heard it.
While I thought Superman Returns was pretty good, the main problem I had with it were the special effects. Maybe instead of letting various studios work on them. Get one good effects house to do them who know how to do 3d lighting and character animation. You could easily spot what was CG and what wasn’t. In many spots it had that Agent Smith “rubberdoll” look. Like what was seen in the second Matrix film.

I’ll believe they are making a new Superman, when Brian Singer announces it. I think Brandon Routh is trying to stir up some publicity for his flagging career.

Scooby……..
No “puffery” necessary missy; that came from Alan Horn himself……..so don’t be a tool.
Love always
Superfan
April 24th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
I can also remember reading about the profits concerning superman returns and how Horn was pleased with the money made from everything but expected at least 100 mil more from U.S. box office take. i gotta go with Rick on this one. Scooby……….OUT!
April 24th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
“Don’t be a tool. LMAO!
How can Routh hava flagging carreer? Superman Returns was his first film I think. he was a soap star prior.
April 24th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
So should Scooby get the “tool” award? Let’s see a show of hands.
Ok, one. two. three. four. Scooby wins!
“Remember, it’s not what you know, but WHO you know.”
April 24th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
Alan Horn told me “he was very disappointed in Superman Returns and would never make a sequel.” He is also very contemptuous of Singer fans who make up quotes about him and have no facts to back them up. Such losers “make him laugh.” He has a very high opinion of Google though, and has invested his IRA funds in it.
April 25th, 2008 at 7:38 am
Scooby…..umm…I MEAN Just So You Know……….
Don’t get all pissy because your credibility is shot.
There are worse things than being a tool……
Well, maybe……..
Peace…..
See you at the Man Of Steel sequel!
Rick
April 25th, 2008 at 9:22 am
Um ..Rick ..just because Google has shown you for a lying fool, …
Don’t act like a pissy girl.
You never had any credibility to begin with so nobody cares how silly you look now. Anon internet self-hypers are a dime a dozen. Nobody will remember or care about your exposure, so quit freaking out over it.
Take a chill pill.
Let your blush fade.
This is the internet. Realize nobody cares about anybody else’s “insiderz” puffery. They don’t even remember your name five seconds after surfing from the page. Momentary embarrassment is really not that big a deal.
Be calm. It’s OK.
April 29th, 2008 at 2:50 am
I loved superman returns i thought brandon did a really good job playing the man of steel.
I cant wait for Superman The Man Of steel hope the movie contains more action and i hope bizzaro, brainic are in thge next movie and i hope superman has a face off and kick some ass!!
April 29th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
It’s amazing how “ladies” like Hugs/Just/Scooby (same idiot) spout and grow beer muscles over the internet.
Reality is, I “cut and pasted” something from the internet and you had some sort of fan boy hissy fit. Your being to lame to find it isn’t my fault and in all honesty I don’t really care what Alan Horn says. It’s morons like you who take the fun out of a nice give and take. You were called out and bitchslapped while I asked your girlfriend/boyfriend (?) to hold my coat! You’re done and I’m done posting with a fool.
I just love how these weasels talk smack from afar. In person DIFFERENT story.
Love Always,
Rick
April 30th, 2008 at 5:42 am
Rick, you still can’t calm yourself down, just because you got embarrassed. All this hissy fit because you got exposed. Sad. At least you’re finally admitting that you’re not buddy buddy with Alan Horn. That was truly laughable.
Now you just have to give up on your continued insistence that you’re more reliable than google and you’ll be well on your way to sanity. You made up a quote. You got exposed. BFD. Nobody cared, but you had to freak out over it anyway. In truth, getting exposed is not the part that should embarrass you. It’s your subsequent posting rampage that humiliated yourself.
You’ve got the thin-skinned emotional maturity of a twelve year old girl. No adult freaks out like that over a momentary embarrassment, especially over the anonymous internet.
I’m sorry that your emotional state is so fragile. I’ll cease responding to you, since it’s apparent that you can’t handle it.
Be calm. Let your blush fade. It’s ok.
