Kill Bill is a masterpiece, and my 2nd favorite QT film behind Pulp Fiction. Dogs is great, but I just love his epic movies. Jackie Brown was right in the middle for me, so I'd probably put RD and DP last, but definately not least! I love all of his movies. As for QT haters, they always like to post about how unoriginal he is or how he's stolen all his ideas, but if they actually knew anything about QT they'd realize how wrong they are. I've watched every interview with him I can gte my hands on, and his love for film is unprecidented, and while he definately borrows ideas from other movies, what director doesn't? Every directorpicks up things from movies or directors that have made an impact on them. QT is such a devoted student of film history that he just draws upon MORE movies than most, and honestly, WHO CARES if he references or borrows an idea for a scene from some obscure foriegn film or weird exploitation movie? If anything it does those films a favor by illuminating them to people who would otherwise have never heard of them. BRING ON INGLORIOUS BASTARDS!!!! THE TRILOGY!! haha

@ Greyson
How in the hell does Natural Born Killers get a 9/10. That maybe couldve been good if Tarantino directed, but with Oliver Stone behind it, it was just unwatchable.

I enjoyed Kill Bill, but my enthusiasm for it has dimished since I have now seen most of the movies it "borrowed" (read: stole) from. It was well made but mostly unoriginal. I liked Pulp Fiction because it was less about him showing off what he likes (this occured mostly in the background whereas now that is all he does). And it featured far superior writing and wasn't completely self conscious. He used to make movies. Now he makes "Quentin Taratino" movies. Big difference. And he's an asshole. Which wouldn't bother me if he still made good movies. Less talking more film-making.

Give me more ANIME. The art was amazing. I like what some directors have done utilizing anime talent ... ala ... the sequence in KILL BILL ... but more specifically ... AFRO SAMURAI!

Greyson,

Love your list and post. But I have to say I love Kill Bill as much as Tarantino's first few films, if not more. I grew up with those genre's he threw together in KB. And it was just an assault on my collective americana-loving senses.

I also eagerly await IB as well.

I love QT, but Kill Bill is not as good RD, PF, better than JB and DP for sure though. The only thing I didn't like about it (besides the black and white Crazy 88 scene) was that the entire first movie is about her recouperation and her battles with Vivica Fox & Lucy Liu. However, 10 minutes into the film you can see Lucy's name already crossed off. Granted, it's one of those "jump scene/story" movies, but to have the rest of the movie center around these two cool cats duking it out with swords was a little predictable. YES I know the hero or heroine usually prevails, but some shred of doubt would have been good too no?

That being said, I'll buy this compliation. I'd like to hear who Ohiofile likes for directors and see if they JTS recently or 10 years ago. Please say Kevin Smith.

Oh and that final fight sequence was good only for the fact that nobody can ever Kill Bill but the one gal who does never picks up her sword, a gun, or has some drawn out battle. The 5 Fingers of Death Palm or w/e it's called was both humorous and effective.

Reservoir Dogs: 10/10

Pulp Fiction: 10/10

Kill Bill: 8/10

Jackie Brown: 7/10

Death Proof: 7/10

That Scene In Sin City: 9/10

BUT, and I know I'm rambling here but why not this is a cool thread, I give True Romance & Natural Born Killers both 9/10s. They are very badass and better than some of his other films, even though he only wrote them.

Alright thanks for your time
