Is that the smoke monster from LOST that I see off screen?
April 23rd, 2008 at 2:26 pm

Ugh. Should be titled “The Nothing Happening”.

It’s kind of telling that there’s four new photos of the movie, and one of them is of Shymalan directing…

I’m sure their is a character in the movie that is a director, and is played by the actor M. Night, and he is looking at something and “acting” scared like the rest of the people in the movie.
I am sure the investors have the same look.

Looking forward to seeing this. I liked The Village and Lady wasn’t too bad.
It’s probably my crush on Bryce Howard.

I’m usually not a fan of this guy, but I actually think this has potential.
Also I gave my heart to Zooey Deschanel.

I’ve liked all of his movies so far, certainly not equally, but still. I am looking forward to this one.

Who’s he trying to convince? Us or himself?!
April 23rd, 2008 at 2:52 pm
Signs is by far, his best. it’s like Night of the Living Dead meets War of the Worlds. but having the tone and feel of NOTLD.
this looks to be more like Signs.

I really like M. Night’s work including Lady in The Water. I mean, I can see why people took aim at it, but I thought it was a real charmer. The Happening on the other hand I find somewhat frustrating. that trailer told us nothing and these pictures tell us even less. I still have friends that think it might actually be about Killer Bees.
I for one am willing to check out the movie based on the talent alone, but can they really sell tickets with Whalberg and an air of mystery? This movie is going to get lost in the summer blockbuster shuffle

M. Night fucking sucks. Stop inserting yourself into your own movies - your movies aren’t that important.

An early draft of The Happening was doing the rounds in Hollywood some time ago. Apparently it’s about plants not being happy with the negative energies that humans are putting out, so they start releasing toxins that kill humans. The air is the antagonist here. The protagonist and his wife work out their marriage problems, channel a lot of love, step outside and… nothing happens. They survive. The end.

Okay, only five faces are actually in focus in that picture so.. where are you people getting “scared from?
The lady behind Marky Mark looks like she heard a dog whistle while thinking about dick.
The lady camera left looks ultra vacant like she had her front lobe lobotomized.
Leguizamo looks like he just heard big bird swear in front of his daughter.
Daughter looks like a sweet little talented special but sad kitten for stated reason.
And finally Marky Mark may be displaying some kind of tension but it really just looks like somebody is tangling a yummy cheeseburger he can’t have off camera for him to flare his nostrils at.
I repeat… there is nothing in this picture to allude to anything horrific. Their probably all just at a Macy Grey Concert. Nobody in the picture could be said to be exhibit fear, horror, or “being scared”.
Maybe their all just staring at the horrible twist thats coming their way.

How are they new? Haven’t we already seen the second and third ones? Oh wait! There’s no binoculars in the first post! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks horrible. Shymalan hasn’t done a half-decent film since Signs, and the trailer is just stupid (”Everybody come to the gym - there’s an even happening” - who the hell says that??)

I’m sorry, but this is going to bomb so bad it will set new records for bombitude. Shyamalan’s career R.I.P.

No, you’re not alone, Lucas. I liked Lady in the Water, too.
April 23rd, 2008 at 4:01 pm

April 23rd, 2008 at 5:49 pm
I can’t wait to find out whats happening to the bees!
April 23rd, 2008 at 7:16 pm
finally someone else is interested in what happened to the bees!!
April 23rd, 2008 at 9:30 pm
The script was terrible, the protagonists are literally saved by “love” at the end of the film.
April 24th, 2008 at 10:52 am
I actually enjoy most of his movies. The characters and the actors who portray them never cease to entertain me.
All that aside, he does look to be taking a crap in that last picture.
Maybe that’s what’s happening.

Sorry with Shamalan movies.
April 24th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
What I meant to say is I am done with Shamalan movies.
April 27th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
What? I dont think he sucks. I mean Unbreakable was my favorite and The Sixth Sense, Signs were REALLY GOOD, The Village was good, and I KNOW Lady In The Water was lame.
