I remember playing Capcom’s Street Fighter vs. Marvel Superheroes back in the ay when kids still frequented arcades. I’m more of a casual gamer now, but this caught my attention. Rumor has it that the new Mortal Kombat game is actually Mortal Kombat vs. DC Comics. Some people think it’s fake, although one site claims to have a confirmation from Midway, and other fans are screaming “Batman cannot get decapitated! Ever! This game is an abomination!” I know it isn’t exactly movie news, but thought it was at least worth a mention.

i don’t know, it may be fake.
that website just brings up a question mark and dots. the sourcecode has “WheelMan Entry Page” and stuff on it, and according to Wikipedia, The Wheelman is a game Midway is developing to be released later this year, with Vin Diesel in it.
so unless it’s an elaborate play (like how movies are sent to theaters under different names), either that poster is fake, the wordscollide.com site is fake, or whatever.

and i don’t know about you guys, but i don’t care whether or not you can beat the game with robin, if superman can be decapitated, etc.. if you can perform fatalities with batman, superman, and co….what’s not to like? i just wanna see something new and cool and this fits the bill.

anyway if you guys have forgotten the amazing Marvel Vs. Capcom series (not just the two) then you will realize Mortal Kombat vs. DC is an amazing idea.
I cant imagine it having little blood for a Mortal Kombat game; no fatalities makes sense since the last few have been bitching out on them anyway.

I think the lesson here is unless your friend made the rumor up and you helped him, it’s best to just let it slide now matter how fake you think it is. X play did a whole thing on it today and AOTS was talking about it most of the afternoon. No fatalities = Lame.

Kip: I don’t mind the “fatality” thing so much. Yes, it makes this game far less of a “Mortal Kombat” game, but characters like Superman were never brutal killing machines, so I agree with Boon’s opinion on the matter: “Can Batman die in this game? Can Superman pull off a fatality? Although he wouldn’t get too specific, Boon said that he’d expect something closer to finishers than fatalities because of those out-of-character situations.” (Quoted from Greg Miller at IGN).
Now, if Lobo or Azrael were in the game…

ok i watched ALL the official trailers about this no fatalities thing, it SHOWS scorpian using a fatality against the flash in the newest trailer, might wanna look again, either the fatalities are hidden or something but they DO seem to be there.
