I BELIEVE A JUSTICE LEAGUE MOVIE WOULD BE GREAT! MARVEL HAS MORE THAN EXCELLED IN THE MOVIE MARKETING BUSINESS, AND IT'S TIME FOR DC TO CATCH UP.....PASSED TIME ACTUALLY! I WOULD LIKE TO SEE RICHARD DONNER AND TIM BURTON HOOK UP, ALONG SIDE WITH MILES MILLAR AN AL GOUGH! YES, THAT'S WHAT I'M GETTING AT! SUPERMAN AND BATMAN ORIGINAL DIRECTORS, WITH SOME NEW AGE! TOM WELLING TOTALLY SPOILED ME AS SUPERMAN, WHO I WOULD LOVE TO SEE, AS THE MAN OF STEEL ON THE BIG SCREEN! ALONG WITH MICHAEL ROSENBAUM AS LEX LUTHER! I LIKE THIS IDEA, ALOT! I KNOW WITH THE RIGHT CAST MEMBERS THIS MOVIE COULD BE THE MOVIE OF ALL SUPERHERO MOVIES! HERE'S JUST SOME IDEAS OF CAST MEMBERS I'D LIKE TO SEE! (TOM WELLING, MICHAEL ROSENBAUM, CHRIS O'DONNEL, SHIA LEBOUF, ERICA DURENCE, VIN DISEAL, JUDE LAW, ORLANDO BLOOM, KEANU REEVES, DANE COOK, VIGGO MORTENSON, JOAQUIN PHOENIX, MELISSA GEORGE,KATE BECKINSALE,TIMOTHY OLYPHANT, KEIRA KNIGHTLY, RACHEL MCADAMSRADHA MITCHELL, JOSH HARTNETT, SEAN BEAN) A PERFECT ALLSTAR LINEUP! YES, THAT COULD BE SOME SERIOUS CASH, BUT LIKE I SAID, WITH THE RIGHT DIRECTORS, AND CAST MEMBERS THIS FILM COULD BE MONUMENTAL! I MEAN I''VE ALREADY GOT GREAT STORY LINES, BUT I'M JUST A NOBODY, FROM NOWHERE, VA. COME ON SOMEONE WHO'S SOMEBODY HAS GOT TO SEE THIS AND MAYBE TAKE WHAT I SAY INTOP CONSIDERATION. THIS COULD BE MAYBE THE INITIATIVE WHAT, THAT SOMEONE WAS WANTING TO HERE. I SURE HOPE SO, CAUSE THIS WOULD BE AWESOME!

Actually, a good pic for the director Frankie...I knew who you were talking about before you even explained it, but I'm entirely too damn gay for cinema and must know all things.

And Lisa...good thoughts. Good to see some female POV on subject matter as this..and have it be GOOD.

The problem, for me, about Routh is that he and the kid are a package deal. I feel the kid sent a bad message, was ill conceived, and was thrust upon the character--in the most prestigious of all media--all for the sake of Singer's glorification. I mean, I didn't like him in the role that much anyway (although he wasn't bad as Clark Kent) but I guess if it weren't for the kid, there'd be hope.

Problem is I saw this project as a way of starting anew, but without the chore of retelling the origin.

Bale... eh, I don't know. He was pretty good, but if I had to sacrifice him to get a new Superman, I'd gladly do it. I don't have any really strong feelings about the rest of your cast.

You hit the nail on the head with Singer-as-director. I mean, I guess it goes to show that you can't just assume that if a director signs on to do some superhero film, it's not just going to be his best film with the hero as the protagonist. As for my pic, well I'm not married to it, but I thought about Martin Campbell who directed both GOLDENEYE and CASINO ROYALE. I say him because he revived the world's longest film series TWICE, and both times it was in a completely different direction. More importantly, you don't mention his name expecting people to know who it is. I think for once, it'd be nice if the director of a major superhero movie could be just "some guy."

This should be a tight 3-D computer gen animation or a killer Shirow anime like the 2nd Ghost in the Shell or even Appleseed: Ex MAchina...but if I HAD to do a live action movie, there here's my specifics.

One: The Story. Simply put. Darkseid plans to eradicate or enslave the planet...this way, we can justify having all the major players come together and have a worthy opponent as well. And Darkseid on the big screen is too cool to pass up.

Two: The script. Garth Ennis writes the hell out of everything JLA. Pay him to write the screenplay and make all the fanboys happy right off the bat.

Three: The cast.

Superman: I have no problem with Brandon Routh. He played the hell out of Supes/Clark. The kid ruined the whole thing for me, but that's personal opinion.

Batman: Duh. Christian Bale. If it ain't broke....

Wonder Woman: Here's where it gets tricky. Being that she's an extremely hot and powerful Greek woman, I'd have to tell the casting direction to go find me a relative unknown actress to fill her shoes to make her more accessible, but if the studio demanded a "brand name", then I'm going with Morena Baccarin from Serenity. She's the total package for a goddess as far as I'm concerned.

Flash: They called it right when they cast Ryan Reynolds. He's quick-witted, slim, and a just the right amount of smart ass to bring Wally West alive in the cinema.

Green Lantern: Ben Browder from Farscape as Hal Jordan and have a cameo from John Stewart on there played by Erik King from Dexter..he has asshole ex-military down to a fine art.

Green Arrow: How would Bruce Boxlietner look with blonde hair and goatee?? I think he could make Ollie happen.

Black Canary: Gotta have at least 2 chicks in the film. My pick for the screamer would be Ashley Scott from Into the Blue.

Aquaman: here's a tough choice...but you need the king of atlantis represented in all all-earth threat such as the kind Darkseid would impose, so I'm gonna go with David Boreanz....he's name enough to attract attention, and good enough to make us believe he could be king.

Hawkman: who better than the dude who voiced him in the JLU animated series? James Remar is buff and gruff enough to pull that off without any doubt.

Vixen: I'm digging her in the comic and would have her on the cast if the budget allowed, and my Vixen would be Kerry Washington.

Four: the director.
We're talking about a movie with live action with a shitload of apolcalytic explosions and tons of CGI, and multiple set pieces, a huge cast and a "superhero" movie to boot. Normally, I'd offer the job to Bryan Singer because I'm still impressed with how he handled the X-Men franchise, but I'm still pissed at him for fucking up Superman Returns...so, given the amount of horrible demonic creatures that would come pouring out of the Boom Tubes and flood into the world at large, who better the Guillermo del Toro for the role of orchestrator of epic movie???

Five: the budget...easily 175-200 million.

Six: the producer...Joel Silver. He has enough clout to get what and who he wants for the movie, respects the fans enough to make it as good or better than it can be.

I think this movie would be done right and just dominate all at the box office the year it premiered.

As for the Green Lantern, since kids relate him as "the black guy," but Hal Jordan came first (well, actually Alan Scott did, but...) and Kyle Rayner was more interesting, why not just have him be one of those two but cast a black actor? It's not like they sat down and said, "we need another white hero," the race is irrelevant; and yet, why disappoint some black kid?

I'm disappointed if this is true. However, Joel Silver wasn't even on the project, and this movie was just the means to an end.

Warners needs to get Superman out of the continuity of SUPERMAN RETURNS. I mean, it just wasn't in character. So many people think it's such an interesting dilemma or something, but it wasn't worth it. It's something THIS CHARACTER wouldn't have done in the first place. And for what? The glorification of some fake fan's ego, that's what.

I hope it's not dead, I hope they just change a few things around. A lot of the cast looked all right, but I agree that they shouldn't have cast Armie Hammer as Batman. Regardless, I'd take that over anything in the Singerverse of Superman.

Justice League movie, new version of origin, no more films... anything to get Superman out of this continuity.

THANK GOD. I mean, I'm not a big justice league fan, or comic fan at all, but I'm glad a guy who's name sounds like a baking soda brand isn't playing batman. Christian Bale for Batman, he's the only one who can do him justice (wow...lol...no pun intended) at this point. As for Superman, I mean, I suppose it should be whoever is going to play Superman in the "The Man of Steel," if that has actually been confirmed, of course. Wonder Woman I'd kind of like to see Megan Fox given a shot at it...shes got EVERYTHING needed to play an bangin' wonder woman. So now to the Flash. Ryan Reynolds. He's a super actor, in my opinion, he just choses to star in craptastic movies. Green Lantern time. I'd like a Caucasian Lantern, not because I'm racist, cause I'm not. This is simply because, as I've been told, that the original Lantern was white, and I'd like to think this is based off the first justice league, because in the newer cartoons (that feature the african-american green lantern) have like 10000000 people in it. As for an actor, i'm not too sure.

This is simply because, as I’ve been told, that the original Lantern was white, and I’d like to think this is based off the first justice league, because in the newer cartoons (that feature the african-american green lantern) have like 10000000 people in it. As for an actor, i’m not too sure.

YYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!

finally some actual sense to the world!!!

cos, honestly, i think it sounded like the worst movie ever.

genuinely, you need to establish the characters before you do a big event movie. and, tbh, i think if they could get routh and bale to do this thing, it would be all the more better and credible.

to tell you the truth, i want a david s. goyer and zak penn collaboration with either michael bay or Bryan singer directing.

(this is still one happy day!)

I'd love to see the Wachowski brothers (brother/sister) direct it. Just give them the script, let them re-write it with Kevin Smith and let's go.

David Goyer. Routh and Bale as the icons. The other casting choices I would need some time to think on. But thank God this farce was put to a hault.

I agree with Captain Awesome. Let's wait to see how our favorite heroes settle into the big screen before we move forward. As far as a script, the whole Superfriends angle was just pure non-sense. We're finally in a period where people have come to understand the legitimacy of the comic-hero. Why go back to the simplistic? I personally think we should adapt one of the story arcs from the Bruce Timm incarnation of the Justice League Unlimited from the DCAU. The arc I'm referring to is the one where The JLU uses a space based weapon to neutralize an alien threat. This incident explores the implications of what the existence of such an organization would mean to the people of earth. There are politics involved, and questions to be raised. Who appointed the meta-humans our saviors? I smell an Iraq U..S. analogy brewing here do you? All of this ends up with earth in an arms race against the JLU in which earth tries to create it's own super army. Meanwhile the Justice league is framed for an attack, and well you get the point. Pretty cool stuff I say.

...Man... Let me write the script! We can do an origin story later!

Joe Newman, I heard on some site (maybe this one?) that DC will lose all ownership in Superman in 2013. They own 50% now. A JLA intro film without Superman would be like eating cat vomit. So, they have to get this JLA film out by 2013. They can't wait around for everybody else to get their trilogies in. Time is wasting.

They need to reboot, recast, return to the original script and get it all done by 2013.
